The next day I was supposed to work the whole time because I didn't have an excuse not to. I went to a bar this time to sing. I had always gone to a club of some sort but never a bar. So, I was a little nervous of what people might do when I start to sing. I decided to sing a song by LiSA called crossing field. It's one of my favorite songs so I decided to sing it, but in the middle of the song I saw something that shocked me.
"Hey! Can you be quiet I'm trying to have a conversation here!" A drunk person said to me while I was trying to sing.
I just decided to ignore him and kept on singing. I mean he would eventually stop or leave. I was wrong...he began to climb the stage and was about to punch me.
"I suggest you get out of here and leave her alone." To my surprise the voice who said those words belonged to Hayate. I had no idea why he was in a bar or why he would want to save me.
"Fine whatever." The guy said and walked off.
"Why'd you do that?" I asked Hayate.
"You needed help so I helped you. Are you okay?" He asked me.
"That's my line. Why are you in a bar?" I asked.
"I was walking by and then I saw you singing. At first I didn't know it was you. I just hear a very beautiful voice and followed it. It turned out to be you then you got into trouble so I came to help you. That's all."
"Okay. Well I'm done now so would you like to walk with me? I need to stop at the convenience store for a few things before I go home." I said beginning to pack my things.
We made our way to the convince store near my house. He also bought a few things he needed so it wasn't a complete waste of time. It was 11:30 pm so the streets were quite empty. I already lived in a small neighborhood so it didn't feel any different but then that same guy who tried to punch me in the bar emerged and tried to punch me again.
"Hey dude back off!" Hayate said again. "I don't take to kindly to guys who punch nice girls."
"You're going to regret that sonny." The guy said and this time aimed for Hayate instead of me. He tried to dodge it but a bunch of other guys grabbed him and he couldn't dodge it. He took a punch to the face but then he was able to get away. If it weren't for me he may have caught longer but instead he just grabbed me and ran.
We didn't stop running until I got to my apartment and then we ran in. I was so scared I began to cry.
"I'm so sorry!" I screamed crying.
"It's not your fault." He said comforting me. "It's my fault. I egged them on instead of just walking away. Don't blame your-" He was cut off by a pain in his shoulder.
"You have a huge bruise on your shoulder. They did this huh?" I asked.
"Yea I guess when you're drunk your aim significantly worsens." He said with a small laugh.
"Here take your shirt off. I have a first aid kit in my closet. I'll bandage it." I offered.
"Thank you." He said.
By the time I got back he had fallen asleep. It was 1 am so I don't blame him. "Oh well. I'll do it in the morning." I said to myself and covered him with a blanket and headed off to my room. When I woke up he was gone. I didn't know where he'd gone and then I found a letter on the table. It read:
Dear Tsukiyama Saya-San,
Thank you for letting me crash at your place. Call me if those guys come back. Here's my number xxx-xxx-xxxx I owe you one. Call me anytime. >.<
- Wada Hayate
"You didn't even let me bandage your arm." I said to myself. I immediately added his number to my contacts and texted him to see if he was doing okay. He ended up texting back that he was fine and that he bandaged it himself earlier that morning with my first aid kit. I was relieved he was okay but then he said that he wouldn't be in class that morning but he would after lunch. In other words I had to take 2 sets of not for 2 different classes. "This is sooooooo much work." I said to myself. I then began to get ready for school. It's not that I hate helping him it's that it's so much work helping him. Oh well he's my friend and I'm happy to help him.
"Wada-San!" I shouted as I saw him walking back from lunch. "Here are the notes for the first 2 classes."
"Thank you so much!" He said and hugged me.
"I see your shoulder is better."
"Yep. It still hurts some but it feels a lot better."
"That's good." I said. "So I have a question. Can I ask it?"
"Yea sure." He answered.
"Do you consider me a friend?" I asked.
"Of course I do. Do you?"
"Yes I was just asking because I wasn't completely sure. Thank you for answering me." I said with a smile.
"Also the next time you sing let me know because I want to watch you." He said.
"Well it's actually tonight. I usually don't do it today but the person singing tonight got a cold and couldn't sing so I'm singing for double the pay." I said. "It's at the club down the road over there." I said and pointed to a host building.
"That's a host club." He said. "Why do they need entertainers there? I mean don't they entertain themselves already?"
"Well it's more of a light singing and the hosts like me apparently." I said. "What can I say. I'm quite popular."
"Send me the time and I'll be there. I don't have anything else today so maybe after these classes we could meet in the library so you can teach me the material."
"Of course." I said.
"See you around." He said and walked off.
At least tonight's gig isn't at a bar. I hope nothing bad happens like it did last night.
