Secrets Behind A Mask

Chapter One

*Kevins P.O.V*

"Yo Kevs, do you have that new camera now finally?" My best friend and housemate Sarah came walking in. "Yeah, I finally got it, we can explore that mansion you were talking about." Me and Sarah would always explore abandoned buildings, we would recored videos of it and put it on youtube, we have quite a lot subscribers. "Nice, im exited to go to that building, they say its haunted" Sarah looked at me with a big smile. I rolled my eyes. "You do know that ghosts don't exist right?" She put her hands on her hips. "Well there isn't proof that they don't exist so..." "yeah yeah whatever" I cut her of. "Go help me with the equipment, we are leaving tomorrow." The mansion we wanted to go to was quite far away, about a three hour drive. We started packing up some stuff for the drive, after that we went to sleep excited for tomorrow.

I woke up early in the morning, I was very excited about today, Sarah came barging in my bedroom. "Yo Kevs get ready! We need to go." I could tell that Sarah was excited. "Calm down a bit will ya? Just give me a few more minutes." I told her. She rolled her eyes. "Well hurry up!" She walked away, I did my normal morning routine and got dressed. I went downstairs to see that Sarah already finished her breakfast. "Yeesh you really want to go dont you?" I asked her while grabbing some cereal. "Yeah of course, this mansion is supposed to be haunted." Sarah told me while I ate my cereal. "Supposed to be haunted by what?" I replied. "I dont know I couldn't find any information." She said, I finished my cereal and started packing the car with Sarah, after that we drove away looking for the supposedly haunted mansion.

After that three hour drive we finally got to the town where the mansion was located, it was a small town totally cut of from any major cities we checked in at a local Inn. "Welcome strangers you two dont seem to be from here." The woman from the Inn started talking to us. "Yeah we are from the big city." Sarah replied. "Well what are two young people like you doing in a town like this?" She asked. "Well actually, we are looking for the Crimson Mansion." That was the name of the mansion, when she heard that name she became very pale. "Why on earth would you do that?" She said, she seemed very nervous all of the sudden. "Is something wrong ma'am?" Sarah asked. "Dont you know that its extremely dangerous to go there?" The woman said. "Dangerous? How can a mansion be dangerous?" I asked. "Just... if you decide to explore that...mansion just be very carefull with what you do and with what you say." She said before helping another customer. I looked at Sarah but she just shruged.

After that weird encounter we started to grab our equipment, we had two backpacks full with extra batteries and such, and we both had cameras. The mansion was about a half and hour walk away from the town, it was in a creepy dark forset but that made it even more interesting. "That woman seemed very nervous when we told her about the mansion." Sarah said while we were walking to the mansion. "Maybe its just to scare us of." I replied. "Yeah maybe, or what if there's really something dangerous in that house?" She said, I chuckled. "Like what? Spooky ghosts and evil spirits?" Sarah rolled her eyes. "Maybe, maybe not." She said, I turned on the video camera and pointed it at her. "So Sarah tell us what we are doing this time." I was recording, she looked at the camera put the lens cap back on. "I told you I dont want my face in the video." She said, she would never show her face on camera. "Look over there I can see the mansion." Sarah pointed to a giant mansion, I mean it was pretty big the biggest one we have seen so far. "And you are sure that its abandoned?" I asked her. "Yeah of course you idiot, atleast I do my research before going somewhere." She replied, she started running towards the mansion, I quickly followed her. "Wow its absolutely huge" I grabbed my recored and filmed the mansion. "This is the biggest one yet." We both walked to the front door, we opened the door, it was quite difficult because it was a big heavy door. "After you." I said, Sarah just rolled her eyes and walked inside, I quickly followed her. We were only in the first room but it was huge. "Whoever build this mansion was either very rich or very good at building, and im guessing the first." Sarah said while looking at some old paintings, I looked at my watch to see that it was about four in the afternoon. "Lets split up, we can explore it faster that way." Sarah said while I was taking some photos of the mansion, it was old and decrepit and every piece of furniture was covered by a white sheet. "You do know that in every horror movie ever when a guy and a girl split up one always dies?" I replied. "Well good thing that were not in a horror movie, I'm gonna check if there's a way upstairs." She said before walking of to find stairs.

Great now I'm all alone in a creepy mansion, oh well. I started to walk around taking many pictures and recording a bunch of stuff, after a while I came by a library, there were giant bookshelves everywhere, I walked towards the back of the library and I found a door, I opened it and found something really strange, there was a person in black clothes and a creepy mask sitting on the ground.
