Secrets Behind A Mask

Chapter Five

*Kevin's P.O.V*

I was just staring out of the window for a few minutes, the sun was starting to go down, I took a picture of it with my phone, it was absolutely beautiful. I suddenly felt a presence behind me, I turned around to see that Masky was standing behind me. "You really like sneaking up on people don't you?" I said with a slight smile, he chuckled. "What else can I do?" He said, I continued staring out of the window, Masky stood next to me. "Why do you wear that mask?" I asked, Masky just continued to stare out the window. "For no reason." He said, his voice sounded slightly sad, maybe that was just my imagination. "Then why not just take it of?" "Why should I, its not like it matters." He turned away from the window to look at me, his white glowing pupils weren't glowing like before, this time they were non-existent. He stared at me for a few seconds before teleporting away again, this guy is strange... I looked out the window and saw that it was night time, maybe I should ask him for a room to sleep. I went to find Masky, after while I saw him in a room reading some strange book. "Ehmm, I have a question, he looked at me. "What is it?" "Since I'm staying here, in what bed can I sleep?" I asked Masky, he shrugged. "Just choose one, its not like it matters." He replied. "Okay, good night I guess." I said to Masky, I started to look for a room, I found one with a balcony, I was dead tired so I went to sleep.

I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the door. "Are you awake yet?" I heard Masky say from the other side. "Yeah." I quickly got out of the bed, Masky came walking in. "So, what is it?" I asked in a groggy voice. "Im here to discuss some things with you, follow me please." He walked out the door and I quickly followed him, we went to a library in the castle, there was a round table with a few chairs around it in the middle. "Take a seat." I sat in one of the chairs and Masky sat in front of me. "Since you are gonna live here for two years you need to learn some important rules about this land." He said while staring directly into my soul probably. "First of, everyone here hates humans, this world consist of demons witches and wizards, any human that is here always gets immediately executed." That send a shiver down my spine. "O-oh... good to know I guess." Masky chuckled a bit. "Don't worry, you are currently under my protection, I understand that you want to go home as quickly as possible." I let out a sigh, luckily atleast one person doesn't want to kill me...yet. "Number two, this land is full of creatures you've never seen before, I have some books about them in this library, I suggest you read about them." He continued. "Number three, lets just say that being around me isn't very safe, you need to learn how to defend yourself using weapons since you can't use magic, understand?" Masky asked, I nodded, this is probably gonna be the worst two years of my life. "Tomorrow we will start training." He got up out of his chair and grabbed a book from one of the many boolshelves, he gave it to me. "I suggest you read this book, It will give you some information about this world, I have to go now, dont do anything stupid." He said before teleporting away. Oh boy, these two years are gonna be one heck of a ride.
