Ding-dong

Knock-knock-knock

Knock

I opened the door and there she was. Beautiful

As she shed her coat, I could see that she was absolutely stunning. She had burgundy dress that ended at her knees. From there you saw lace, black tights. To top it off she had black Doc Martens on her feet. She was wearing makeup. Her eyes were gold and brown and lined with black. Her lips matched her dress.

"I heard there is a party going on here. We thought we would crash it," Bexley said.

"I don't think it's crashing if you were invited," My dad said behind me.

"Hey, Mr.- or Richard," Bexley stumbled, too used to formalities.

"I must say that you all look quite stunning," he said to the girls as he took their coats and put them in the closet.

"Thank you Mr. Humphery," Carly said.

"And thank you for letting us come," Tessa said.

"It's my pleasure, and please call me Richard. Now if you would excuse me, I'm going to mingle with people my own age. Nice boots, Bex." He left.

Carly was in a floor length, dark-blue dress. A gold chain hung from her neck. Her eyes were smoked with brown, and under was lined with gold shimmer. She was very pretty.

Tessa was dressed in a black dress. The bottom was lace. Her shoes were silver heels. Her eyes had a glittery shimmer. Her lips were a soft pink. She, too, was very pretty.

"You all look ravishing," I said with a polite smile.

"Thanks," they said.

"Are you guys hungry?" I asked.

"Yeah, I could eat," Carly said and they others nodded in agreement.

"The food's in the kitchen, so." We left towards the direction of the refreshments.

"You really do look quite beautiful, Bexley," I whispered to her, so no one else could hear.

"You don't look too bad yourself, Thade," she replied.

I looked down at my ensemble. I had a white button-up shirt and black pants. I had a purple bow tie around my neck. My brown curly hair was still a mess, even though I tried forever to tame it.

"Nice tie," Bexley added.

"Thanks," I answered.

"Bow ties are cool," she said with a smirk.

I smiled back at her Doctor Who reference.

"Can you guys not be huge nerds for one night?" Carly said sarcastically.

Bexley acted like she was pondering that thought. "No, I don't think we can."

"Speak for yourself," I said, faking offense.

"Oh, come on. We all know she was right about both of you," Tessa said as we laughed.

"Look who turned out to be a ladies man," Uncle Jack, a friend of the family, said.

"They're just my friends," I said.

"Regardless, are you going to introduce me to them?" he asked.

"Oh, right. Uncle Jack, this is Carly, Tessa, and Bexley. Um, he isn't actually my uncle just a friend of the family," I explained to them. Bexley seemed a little stiff when I said uncle, but was fine after I explained that he wasn't actually a part of the family.
