He learned, but it was more than that
He grew, went out and found himself a voice
They knew, he was stronger in that big old hat
The one his father gave him with no other choice
He could now finalize, make his own decisions, stand up for himself.
Rationalize, steer away from temptation, and peer pressure. That dull look in his eyes was no more, lost in the bookshelf.
He read, turning pages, finding keys and opening doors in a swift gesture
Couldn't hold it in, his talents were too great
Changing the world with just a little pressure
It could only be his fate
That he would save mankind one day.So he smiled.
Opened up, made more friends and never saw any gray.
He became a good boy, kind, loyal and respectful, unlike any other child.
Always a pleasure to walk the extra mile.Soon he grew up.
As he gained experience, he lost something.
He found it hard to do any trusting.
People all around became deceitful creatures
Fake smiles and forced laughter were just a few of their features
Soon he was alone again.Nothing changed, everything changed.
But he learned his lesson.
He thought it was a crazy, cold world,
But he'd have to be deranged
To believe in sunshine and flowers without a few thunderstorms,
Without a little bit of rain.
