Picture of Alec^
I sit in the fancy room in the Justice building, which reminds me a bit of my house, with my dad being the mayor. I sit there alone for a few minutes, looking at the floor when suddenly the door opens.
"You have 10 minutes," a peacekeeper says as my dad and sister rush into the room.
"Skylar, please don't leave me, please win for me, I need my big sister!!" Maisie cries as she jumps onto my lap.
"Oh Mais, I'll try to win, I promise. Alec is my mentor. He won and can help me," I say and hug her. I take the locket that's around her neck and open the heart. Inside is a picture of our family on one side, that mom put in there before she died, and a picture of mom on the other side that I put in.
"Look Mais, its our family. Whenever you miss me, just open this locket and there I am," I say. Maisie nods and holds the locket close in her hands.
I look up at my dad, who has tears in his eyes. I stand up, leaving Maisie on the couch and wrap my arms around my dad. He hugs me tightly and I hear him let out a few cries before he pushes me back and looks me in the eye.
"You can do this Skylar, I know you can. You are strong, and brave, and like you said, Alec is your mentor. He's and good guy and I know he'll help you," my dad says with tears running down his cheek.
"Times up," the peacekeeper says, opening the door. My dad gives me one last hug and so does Maisie.
"I love you," I say as they get led out.
"Goodbye, I love you!!" I hear Maisie yell.
"Goodbye," I whisper.
I then sit down on the couch, alone again. I let a few tears fall down my cheeks. Suddenly the door opens again and Livi and her mom come in. Livi takes one look at my tear stained cheeks before she rushes over to the couch. She sits next to me and puts an arm around me.
"I'm so sorry Sky," Livi says. Her mom Alyson sits down on the other side of me and rubs my back.
"I'm sorry dear. Please come home to us, make your mother proud," Alyson says. I smile at her before nodding.
Soon enough, the peacekeeper comes and takes them away. After a couple minutes, the peacekeeper comes back in and takes my arm. He leads me out of the room and outside where Estella is waiting and Luca joins us. The train station is right behind the justice building so we can just walk there. Luca keeps giving me evil smirks, and it scares me.
We finally get to the train and step on. I'm amazed at what I see. There are beautiful pieces of furniture, and food everywhere. Even though I've never really starved, I've never seen this much food before.
"Sit down, your mentors will be out in a minute," Estella says. I sigh of relief slightly, because that means Alec will be out. Estella leaves and then I'm alone. With Luca. He sits down on the couch and gives me another evil smirk with a wink.
"Would you stop," I say, annoyed.
"You're cute when you're annoyed," Luca says, evil still in his eyes.
"Not a chance," I say and roll my eyes.
The door opens and Alec rushes in. He sees me right away and rushes towards me.
"Alec," I say with a bit of a cry and run into his arms. His arms wrap around me and squeeze me. I cry into his shirt and he calmly strokes my hair.
"I can't believe it was you," Alec whispers. He pulls back and uses his hand to lift my chin up so I'm looking at him. Alec is taller than me, but not by too much. His chin is at my eye level.
