Time to Give Up

Fair

Saturday was here! Yay! Yandere-chan was very, very excited for this day to arrive.

She never goes to the fair with her friends before, so she must look good tonight. She opened her closet and searching for something to wear. She didn't have many clothes, but they all looked nice and good.

"What should I wear?" She asked herself.

Soon, she had chosen a perfect outfit. It was a white, sleeved-less blouse with red collar and a black bow wrapped underneath it, along with blue jeans and a black belt. She decided to let her hair down and added two white hairclips to her hair. She looked at herself in the mirror.

"Well, not bad. I'm very satisfied with this outfit."

She glanced at the clock, it was 4:40. Suddenly, she remembered something. At this time the previous day, Senpai confessed to her.

She looked at the floor, trying to fight back tears. That night she had cried so much, she couldn't believe what she had heard. Those words from him, they kept playing in her head over and over again.

I think... I like you.

"No... no... stop..." She mumbled.

I... I think that...my feeling toward you... maybe more than 'like'...

"Stop..."

Will you... accept my feeling?

"JUST STOP IT!" Unable to hold back anymore, she shouted. Her heart beat rapidly. She didn't want to remember it, she want to forget it.

"No... Yandere-chan, it was just a dream. You get it? Just a dream..." She talked to herself, she tried to convince herself that it wasn't real, it didn't happened.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm down. She walked out of her room and left. Shulk probably was waiting for her.

Shulk looked at his watch; it was 4:55, so Yandere-chan should be coming soon.

"Shulk-kun!"

Hearing Yandere-chan's voice, he spun around and nearly froze because of her cuteness.

"M... Melissa-chan, you... you look stunning!" Those words just slipped out of his mouth somehow.

"Thank you. You look nice, too." She put her hands behind her head and blushed a bit.

She wasn't lying about his appearance. He was wearing a green-and-white checked, short-sleeved shirt with unbutton collar, along with black jeans and white sport shoes.

"Ready to go?" He asked with a smiled on his face.

"Of course! Let's go!" She smiled childishly, making him chuckled.

After they gave their tickets, they walked through the gate. She couldn't wait!

"Where shall we go first?" She asked.

He looked around and pointed at the roller coaster. "There."

She glanced at it and quickly turned away. "Uh uh! It's so high!"

He grinned. "You're going with me, no matter what!"

"No!"

"Come on! Once you try it, you'll find it very fun!"

"I can't trust you enough..." She mumbled as they headed to the roller coaster.

"So... what do you think? Pretty fun, huh?" He asked her when they stepped out.

"Yeah... but I'm a little dizzy." She put one of her hands on her forehead. "I'm getting a headache..."

"May be a little walk will help you feel better." He hold her hand, making her blushed slightly. Although they had been friends for month, but she never gets a chance to hold his hand.

After a few minutes of walking, he asked. "Feeling better?"

"Yes, thank you." She smiled.

"No problem."

He then spotted the candy stall and pointed his thumb at it.

"Want some cotton candy?"

"Yeah."

He paid for the candy and they continued their walking. Suddenly, when they were chatting, she heard someone shouted.

"Melissa!"

"Huh?" She spun around. "Oh, hi Savannah."

Savannah grinned at her. "Oh! You are on a date with Shulk? How sweet!"

They both blushed. "Wha... what? No! It's not like that!"

"Ohhhh, I'm so jealous of you." She put her hand on her mouth and grinned evilly. "Our friends will shock about my new discovery!"

"No! You... you get it all wrong! I and he are just hanging out together. It's not like we're dating or something like that!"

"Ha ha, I know. I'm just teasing you." She laughed but managed to calm down. "Well, have a nice night. I have to go; my parents probably were waiting for me."

"Bye, Savannah-chan!" She waved.

"It's getting late." Shulk glanced at his watch. It was nearly 7 PM. There were a few people left in the fair and the star started to twinkle brightly on the dark sky.

"Guess that we have to say goodbye now."

"Yeah..." He said, his tone showed that he wanted to say something. Yandere-chan noticed this, but she didn't force him to say.

"Well, see you on Monday." She waved and spun around.

Biting his lips, he reached out his hand and held hers tightly, forcing her to face him. "W... wait. Don't go yet..." He said quiet just enough for her to hear.

She spun her body around. "What is it? Something's wrong?"

He took a deep breath before holding both of her hands before she could protest.

"I want to say that... I had liked you for a while now."

Her eyes widen. She couldn't trust her ears for what she just heard from him.

"W... wait! This is one of your jokes, right?"

"No... I'm serious, Melissa."

Looking deeply into her eyes, he continued. "As days past, I soon feel emotion in my body whenever I am with you. You make my heart races every times you smile. I feel butterflies in my stomach when I hear your laughter. I feel the uneasiness in my mind when I see you sad."

She was going to say something but quickly shut her mouth.

"At first, I kept wondering why. But now I get it... I like everything about you, Melissa Nivans. Your beauty, your smile, your laughter... everything. I want to tell you everything in my mind about you."

He held her hands tighter, he leaned down a little bit, so his eyes were the same level as hers.

"Melissa, will you be my girlfriend?"

She looked at him, eyes still widen. She didn't know what to say to him. First, Senpai confessed to her and now he confessed to her! Two boys and one girl... just like in romance novels. She wanted to run away like last time, but she had decided that she wouldn't. She couldn't just run away and left him alone. She had to say something.

Shulk was looking at her while waiting patiently for her answer.

"Shulk..." She spoke softly.

"Yes?"

"I... I have to think about it. I can't decide yet." She looked down at their hands.

He paused for a few seconds, and said. "If you want to, then I won't force you. I will give you times to think."

Letting go of her hands, he walked away and waved.

"Goodbye, Melissa-chan. See ya."

Then, he was out of her view. She still stood there, shocked and speechless.
