Chapter 3: You Know What Happens

MAVERICK

I got changed out of the retched jumpsuit they put me in and got changed into my normal attire of a black t-shirt, dark skinny jeans and black leather boots.
I jogged down the stairs and into the living room where I picked up the house phone.

"Speak." Sighed the person at the end of the other line.

"It's me." I answered back.

"Mav? Is that really you? But, h-how did you-" he stuttered before I cut him off. Instantly his voice lost all confidence and sharpness.

"Never mind that. All that matters is that I hear you've been interfering with my deals whilst I've been away." I snapped.

"U-uh, only to make sure that t-they're done right, a-and efficiently!" He rushed.

"Well my men are efficient with their work! That's why I have them take of them, and not you, imbecile!" I shouted.

"O-okay, I won't interfere anymore! You have my word!" He cried.

"Oh, I'll definitely have your word, otherwise you know what happens, don't you?" I said slowly, trying to make him scared even more than he was. It was working because I heard him gulp through the phone.

"Y-yes. I do..." He said quietly.

"Good. Now, if I hear anymore about you sticking your nose into my business, then trust me. You'll wish you were in hell!" I roared before I slammed the phone back down.

That should teach him. For now...

After the phone call I grabbed my keys off of the kitchen table and headed out to my black Audi A8 L. I unlocked the car as I looked about my neighbourhood. I was surrounded by the houses of my family. My Silver Demons. They were all my brothers and sisters. We're our own family, since most of us don't have family anymore. I still have my dad- my mum died during child birth. Although my dad says the doctor that was taking care of her was part of The Prodigal's. They're another gang in Brampton who are always trying to steal from us, kill us, and just try to be more feared and dangerous than us. Pfft, like that'll ever happen. I'm gonna make sure that they're all 6 feet under before they even get close to overthrowing the Silver Demons.

I jumped in the car and started driving to Alec's house. Alec was another member of the Silver Demons, he enjoyed inflicting pain on others, he rarely smiles, and if he does, then it's because he's either thinking about hurting someone, or is hurting someone. But, he's always there when you need him.

I slowed the engine and honked twice when I pulled up outside Alec's house. He lives with two other Silver Demon's: James and Mason. James was very tech-y, he does the hacking into electrical locks, tracking phone calls or messages, and all that stuff. Mason on the other hand, deals with disposals. And by disposals, I mean hiding dead bodies, getting rid of our traces, things like that. Alec helps me with the more important things like going on the deals with me for back up, paying visits to people who need to be taught how we do things around here, etc. They're only three of the incredibly important people in the Silver Demons.

I saw Alec, Calvin and James emerge from the front door, with Alec locking it before joining James and Calvin in a walk down the path to hop in the car.
Calvin is my second-in-command. He's the boss when I'm not around. He doesn't live with James, Alec and Mason but he's there most of the time hanging out.

"Dibs!" Calvin shouted as he practically lunged himself into the passenger seat, leaving James and Alec to sit in the back.

"Jheez, thanks bro." James sighed as he rolled his eyes.

"Hey, you snooze you lose." Calvin smirked with a shrug.

"Oh grow up, boys." Alec sighed as he buckled himself in.

"I am a grown man for your information. Unlike some of you..." Cal huffed as he glared at Alec and James.

"Alright, alright, let's just get going." I sighed with a smile on my face.

I revved the engine and we sped off towards the HQ to address the rest of us and get me updated on what I've missed.

As we drive down the path, we see two petite girls on the path, both wearing school uniform and both swaying their hips as they walked.

"Whoo, don't they look interesting." Cal smirked as he eyed the girls as we slowly drove along.

"I dare you to call them out." James chuckled as we were getting closer to them.

"Pfftt! Easy peasy!" Cal mocked as he unbuckled his seat belt and got up as I opened the top.

TIFFANY

After school...

Me and Kate were walking down the road to my car, which I had to park down the road from school because there were no more parking spaces in the school's parking lot.

"How's Sean?" Kate asked as she nudged me in the ribs.

She's talking about Sean Wylde. He's another one of my best friends, or should I say our best friends. He's not in today because he has a fever and feels really ill. Kate is adamant that he has a crush on me, but she doesn't know that we could never go out. We've been friends since year 7 when we first met each other, ever since then we've been inseparable. Like me, he has brown hair, but his eyes are just one colour- blue. He probably would be a good boyfriend, but not for me.

"Well, I suppose having a fever, sneezing all the time, and feeling sick is just peachy." I sarcastically retorted with a big grin on my face.

"Very funny." Kate glared whilst crossing her arms over her chest.

"So I've been tol-" I was cut off by the sound of a car speeding up to us and some guy shouting at us...

"I AIN'T NO HIPSTER, BUT I CAN MAKE YOUR HIPS STIR!" He shouted from the roof of the car as he sped off.

Me and Kate stopped in our tracks. Did that seriously just happen? I asked myself.

"Well. Oookay then...?" Kate said, quite clearly disturbed.

"Did he seriously just try to pick us up from a moving car?" I asked, still she'll shocked.

"Uh, I guess so?" Kate spoke with a hint of question in her voice.
