Dean POV
As Chase and I walk into the building to find our target I can't help but fidget in my itchy suit as my nerves rise.
"Stop that." Chase mumbles. "He didn't get his money from working hard or family inheritance. He'll know something is up if you keep fidgeting." He explains. I take a deep breath and try to calm my nerves. We walk to the reception where there is a lady typing away. She looks at us and gives a polite smile.
"Name?" She asks.
"John Elson and Robert Bradbury." Chase answers. She types a few things into her computer quickly.
"Ahh yes. You have an appointment with Mr Kennedy in ten minutes. If you go up to the tenth floor someone will be there waiting for you." She tells us.
"Thank you." Chase says and we walk to the lifts. We enter it and press for the tenth floor which happens to be the top. Just as the doors are about to close someone quickly rushes in. He is wearing an old jacket that is falling apart and his hair is slicked back. He looks at us and smiles,
"You here to see Mr Kennedy?" He asks. Chase nods his head slightly.
"Ah... well as a pointer I would not mention anything about family. Touchy subject. Oh and if your breath smells he won't hesitate to send you out." He tells us. Instantly feeling more nervous I casually check my breath disguising it as a yawn.
"Thank you for that advice." Chase says kindly. The man smiles.
"No problem." He replies back. He looks into the mirror at his reflection. "Oh I forgot." He says and takes off his jacket. He turns it inside out so it looks smarter, as if it was made for a business meeting and puts it back on like that. I look at Chase I notice he is frowning. We arrive at the top floor and the man turns to face us one more time, "Don't you hate it when things are back to front?" He asks and walks out. Chase coming to his senses shakes his head and walks out.
"He was interesting..." I mumble. Chase looks at me,
"There was something off about him." Chase states. I nod my head and then we notice a lady waiting,
"Mr Elson and Bradbury?" She asks us as we walk past.
"Yes." I reply. She smiles brightly and starts walking, we trail behind her. I notice that Chase grips his brief case a little bit tighter the closer we get. We come to an office that is made out of glass that is frosted. The lady knocks and there is a faint mumble before she opens the door for us. We both enter and there sitting at the desk is Mr Kennedy. Our target.
"Hello Sir, it is a pleasure to meet you. I'm John Elson and this is my partner Robert Bradbury. We are here to discuss about co-joining our business together." Chase starts. Mr Kennedy looks at both us, studying everything about us. I start to feel a bit uncomfortable, in my large fake nose and my fake sideburns.
"Sit." He eventually says pointing us to the seat in front of his desk. Both of us take our seats. He looks at me,
"Remind me what your company does again?" He asks. I gulp nervously before beginning.
"We are a small company that plans to help in the manufacturing of products to help in daily lives." I repeat what I drilled into my head.
"And why should I partner with you?" He asks Chase this time.
"Because although we may be small out ideas are big and useful. Our charts show that 87% of people would like products that help out with 50% of their daily routine, and our products if we can get them manufactured should be able to do a lot more than that." Chase, sounds professional in what he says, and speaks like a true salesmen. Mr Kennedy leans back in his chair and flicks his eyes between the both of us.
"And tell me. If I was to help you out how much profit would I get?" He asks.
"30%" Chase says without missing a beat.
"How about 40?" He asks. Chase looks at me and I nod my head slightly as if we are Co owners discussing something.
"Done." Chase says. Mr Kennedy smiles.
"Good to know. I'll be in contact with you in the next few days." He tells us standing up. We follow his lead and shake his hand before leaving. We then leave and head back to our apartment.
Chase POV
When Dean and I arrive at the apartment I walk into my room straight away and walk to where I kept the note Terin gave me yesterday. I think back to what the man in lift earlier said.
"Don't you hate it when things are back to front?" I wouldn't have thought anything more of it except he looked me straight in the eye when he said it. Hesitantly I open up the note and read it again.

I read it back to front to find out the message:
Abandoned building - 12 Harper Street. Mind the arrow.
Immediately I know it is her and I can't help the relief go through me, but then the anger of what happened hits me and my emotions become conflicted. I shake my head, it says nothing about a timing, or why she is only now contacting me. Maybe it has to do with why she left. Sighing I memorise the words before grabbing the lighter we are given as part of our equipment and burning it out of the window. I'll go and find her when this mission has finished. I convince myself that is what I am going to do but I'm not sure I can. Can I really face after a few years of not even a note saying she is okay?
