Chapter 23
Andrea's Point of view:
I sipped on my third cup of coffee as I was sitting rather restlessly in an uncomfortable chair in the waiting room of the Bristol Hospital. The wait seemed endless as I kept moving around in the chair, not seeming to be able to find a comfortable position. The stress was eating me inside out.
"Andrea." A voice suddenly startled me, causing me to almost spill my hot, steamy coffee over myself.
"Jesus." I breathed as I turned around to see that it was only Finn. "Scared the shit out of me."
"Why so jumpy?" He chuckled as he walked over to sit on the vacant chair beside me.
Ignoring him, I turned my attention to a small T.V. that was positioned agaisnt the wall opposite of me.
"Oh." He bit his bottom lip as he began to nod his head. "You're still mad at me. Right?"
I sighed. "I need answers." I turned to look at him.
"Answers?" His eyebrows shot up in confusion.
"Yes, answers." I said shortly. "Let's start with this. Why do you and Jack hate Beau and his two brothers and two friends?"
Twisting his eyebrows, he narrowed his eyes at me. "We just do." He shrugged after a few silent seconds.
Feeling myself get impatient, I rolled my eyes. "You know what? Forget it." I said as I stood up from the chair, but before I could even start walking towards the door, he gripped my lower arm.
"No wait." He muttered.
"What's the point?" I shrugged in annoyance. "I've only been here for three goddamn days and all I've seen is fucking madness. And for some reason, it all seems to be revolving around you and you brother. I need some explanation Finn."
"We never liked each other." He said shortly.
"Who?" I asked in frustration.
"The Janos--- I mean the five boys and Jack and I." He pulled me back down on the chair, and I didn't resist.
"How do you guys even know each other?"
He swallowed hard. "Uh… they lived around our neighborhood."
Nodding my head in understanding, I picked up my coffee cup as I began sipping from it once more. "I need more answers though." I said after a few seconds as more questions began to pop up in my head. Why was he suddenly so mad today that he punched the mirror? What did he mean when he said 'he won't stop until I give in'? Who won't stop?
He chuckled. "Some answers are better off not revealed, my sweet heart." He half smiled. "As they will haunt you once they are."
Twisting my eyebrows, I opened my mouth to object, but he cut me off as he suddenly stood up. "Now doll, you've been sitting here for far way too long. You seem exhausted. Let's get you out of here." He stretched his hand out for me to take, which I did as all hesitancy was drawn out of me while I blushed at the nickname he had called me.
Standing up to face him, I let him take a hold of my hand as he intertwined his fingers with mine. Looking down at me, his dark, green eyes glowed as he pulled my hand towards his face, brushing his lips against it. Giggling, I felt my heart beating faster and faster as he placed a gentle kiss on my hand. Smiling up at him, I bit my lower lip. "But don't think you're off the hook that easily mister."
He chuckled lowly as he pulled my hand away from his lips and held me closer to him, our bodies now touching, his chest pressed against mine. "Not even for a while?" He murmured in my ear, his voice raspy and low.
"Only a short while." I breathed, feeling the goose bumps rise on my skin as his lips barely brushed against my ear, his breath hot against my flesh.
"Okay love birds." Jack's voice startled us as we quickly pushed away from each other. Turning around, I saw Cher giggling from behind Jack.
"Cher!!" I screamed as I ran over to hug her. "Are you okay?" I looked her up and down once we pulled away.
She laughed. "I'm fine. But you, on the other hand, you seem more than just fine." She smirked sarcastically as she shot a glance at an awkward Finn, and then at me.
"Oh, please. Do shut up." I rolled my eyes, but I couldn’t help the smile that spread across my lips. She was alright, and I was so relieved.
Cher's point of View:
"We're going back to our room." Jack said. "Are you and Andrea coming?" He looked at Finn, directing his question to him.
"Yah." Finn nodded. "We were just about to leave actually." He looked at Andrea, holding his hand out for her to take.
As they started to walk out, Jack turned to look at me, twisting his eyebrows in confusion. "Are you not coming?" He asked as he saw me standing behind.
"Uh… no I actually want to be left alone for a while." I faked a smile. "You guys go. I'll catch up with you later."
"Are you sure babe?" He asked, unsure of what to think of this.
"Yah. I need some time to think." I shrugged.
"Oh." He nodded in understanding. And with that, they all walked out of the waiting room.
Once they were out of sight, I walked out the door and towards the campus coffee shop. It was always quiet and calm there and it was the best place to think. I had to try my very best to remember what had happened the night of the party. It was killing me inside. Not remembering how my own virginity was stolen from me. Not knowing why I even started to drink. It was all a blur. A white, foggy blur.
As I walked through the coffee shop's doors, I went straight to the cashier. Ordering a hot, steamy cappuccino, I started to walk back to a vacant table in the corner, holding the hot drink in my hand. Feeling my mind wander off elsewhere, I was in my own little world, my eyes on the floor, my attention on anything but my surroundings.
"Woah!" I suddenly felt something bump into me, and before I could react, the cup was thrown out of my hand, the coffee spilling all over the floor.
"Oh, shit. I'm sorry." The deep, husky voice said apologetically.
"It's fi---" My voice was suddenly caught in my throat as I looked up. It was him. Him. Biting my bottom lip in unease, I felt my heart rate pick up as my stomach churned in disgust and terror. Swallowing hard, I quickly turned around and started to walk the opposite direction.
After snapping himself out of what seemed like a daze, he started to walk after me, calling my name. "Cher. Cher! Wait!" He ran to catch up with me.
"Leave me alone!" I almost screamed as I ran out of the coffee shop.
"No! You need to let me explain!" He caught up to me, stopping me in my track as he grasped my upper arm and turned me around to face him.
"Don't you fucking dare touch me." I pulled my hand out of his grasp, and to my surprise he quickly let go of me.
Breathing heavily, I felt the tears pinch the back of my eyes as I looked up at him in dread. "Why don't you just leave me alone?" my voice came out weak and shaky this time, as the tears finally collapsed from my eyes. One after the other.
Swallowing hard, his eyes widened in worry. "No no no, don't cry. Just let me explain." He pleaded.
"There is nothing there that needs to be explained." I shrugged, wipping away the tears with the back of my sleeve. As I turned around and started to walk away, he once again stopped me in my track. But this time, it wasn't him, himself, stopping me. Yet, it was his words.
"We didn't have sex, Cher. But you were hurt. And you wanted to."
