Ace's POV

I've been trying to get a hold of her all night. I didn't know where she was.
I should have told her. I want to explain.
And now I might lose her.
All these past few months, she brought the best out of me. I couldn't lose her.
I stayed all night sitting in my car, waiting for her to come home. I must have fallen asleep because I heard a knock on my car window.
The sun was already up.
It was her brother, I slide the window down.
He handed me a bottle of water.
-Thanks I said
He nodded
-You should go home, He blurts out
-I need to talk to her.
-I'm sorry man. But I don't think she's coming home now.
-Do you know where she is? I asked him with desperation in my voice. I've never been this concerned about a girl before.
He nodded
-But you're not going to tell me I continued.

I get it. He was protecting her, but there was nothing for her to be protected from. I should have been honest with her.
-I get it. I simply said
-Why didn't you just told her? He suddenly said
I sighed.
Why didn't I?
-I was afraid that she would react like that.
-You must really like her to have stayed all night here.
I was looking into the void, I didn't know what to say.
I did like her. I think I more than like her.
-She's at her best Friend's he said.
I gave him a thankful look before starting the engine.
-But... If you hurt her... You won't see what's coming. I promise

Opal's POV

I really didn't understand. Why did he lie to me? He knew Seth, why hasn't he told me? So meeting me was all planned? Planned for what? Does he have something to do with his death? I had so many questions.
My eyes must be all red and puffy from crying all night. Ava stayed up all night with me, and now she was sleeping. I will always be grateful to have her.

So I've been played is that it? But why? For what?
It was too good to be true.

It was 8 in the morning and I haven't slept. I couldn't. I was laying beside Ava, listening to her snore. I feel sorry for the guy she's gonna marry someday.
-Heyy...you didn't sleep? I heard her say in a sleepy voice.
-No... I gave her the "isn't it obvious look"
a few seconds later the bell rang.
I heard her groan and I sighed.
-It must be Noah. I'll go get it she said.
I didn't feel like going back home. My parents must be worried, plus I disconnected my phone. I'll go home later, I was not ready for the pep talk especially with the lack of sleep and the state I'm in.
A few minutes later Ava came back.
-He wants to talk to you.
-I'm coming home later. Can't you tell him? I said with pleading eyes.
-It's not Noah
I knew who she was talking about. I was debating whether or not I wanted to get down. I didn't have anything to say to him. I didn't know what to say to him. He hid something huge from me. He knew my brother. Why hide it from me? I finally decided to go downstairs. I couldn't hide from him forever.

I was standing in the middle of the stairs, his back facing me.
-Why are you here? I suddenly blurt out.
He turned around jumping.
-Opal...I...I he hesitated
-It's a simple question Ace I let out frustrated.
-I wanted to get to know you... He first said I...I used to see you whenever your brother had a race against one of the members of the group. We raced each other once, but at that time you didn't use to come there, and when you did I never thought that you guys were siblings, plus you've never noticed me...
-How do you know my brother ?
-I told you. We raced together.
-No... How does you and Noah know each other?
There was a moment of silence before he finally answers me.
-Because... Because he used to race too.
What?
-What?

Ace's POV

I Waited a few minutes in my car before I could ring the bell at Ava's house.

-Please...I begged her. I just want to explain myself.
-That's for her to decide, but I'll try. She said before going upstairs to get Opal.
I was so nervous.

-Why are you here? I heard her sweet angry voice say behind me.
-Opal... I... I
Seeing her like this. Her eyes were all puffy from crying and all because of me.
I didn't know what to say.
-It's a simple question Ace... She said a little bit annoyed
-I wanted to get to know you....I...I used to see you whenever your brother had a race against one of the members of the group. We raced each other once, but at that time you didn't use to come there, and when you did I thought at first that you were his girlfriend, plus you've never noticed me...
-How do you know my brother?
-I told you... We raced together
-No... How does you and Noah know each other?
Why would she asked that? Didn't she know?
-Because... He used to race too.
-What? She said like she couldn't believe what I just told her
It wasn't in my position to tell her, but I knew she needed answers and I'm not trying to make her have a grudge against her brother... because he and I used to be friends.
There was noise coming from the stairs, I look up to see Ava getting all nervous. Did she know?
-Avaa? Opal said with worries in her voice. You knew too didn't you?
