Seedrush awoke and got up from his nest wheezing.
His chest had gotten worse and he was beginning to be affected in his help to the clan.
He was constantly trying to find ways out of patrol and avoiding Saffronpaw, Harefoot and Chevriltail who would notice something was up. Other than them no one noticed anything wrong and Seedrush just tried to continue normally.
He constantly had a dull throbbing pain in his chest and he could do nothing to get rid of it.
He was breathing heavily all the time and when the air was colder it hurt him. He often had a fuzzy mind and his vision went blurry when his chest was really bad.

"Seedrush could you please go on a hunting patrol with Harefoot, Hailstorm and Lilypool? Asterpaw can stay with me," Dogfang said to him one morning while he sat next to the Warriors Den breathing heavily.
Seedrush could not think of an excuse at the moment and just nodded.
He followed Lilypool out of camp, she was the leader of the patrol.
"We will hunt by the river," Lilypool informed them and Seedrush inwardly sighed with relief.
Now I don't have to crouch!

They sat by the deeper part of the river and looked into the water.
Seedrush trained his eyes on a trout and snapped out his paw just missing it.
Then his vision went blurry and he shook his head to try and clear it.
He heard Hailstorm call to him. "Hey Seedrush, can you catch that one?"
His eyes were still blurry and he dug his right claws into the ground while he slashed his left one in the water.
His right fore-paw was still a little weak from the battle and it gave way underneath him.
He let out a muffled exclamation and splashed into the water.
He couldn't see anything except churning blue and he tried to pump his paws to get back to the surface.
His chest protested wildly and when he tried harder it gave a spasm and pain shot through his body.
His mind became fuzzy and felt himself bump to the bottom of the river.
The current pulled him fast as he was swept to the middle of the river and the light from the surface faded.
He opened his mouth to call for help but water spilled in and flowed down his throat before everything went black.

He opened his eyes to see himself laying on grass. A wide expanse of water was in front of him and he couldn't think where he was.
Then he began to vomit up water.
His chest felt as though it was being torn apart slowly.
When he stopped vomiting every part of his body was in so much pain.
He couldn't budge and his chest barely moving.
He could only just feel air around him before he was pulled into a painful and dreaming sleep.

He couldn't see anything except churning blue and he tried to pump his paws to get back to the surface.
His chest protested wildly and when he tried harder it gave a spasm and pain shot through his body.
His mid became fuzzy and felt himself bump to the bottom of the river.
The current pulled him fast as he was swept to the middle of the river and the light from the surface faded.
But nothing disappeared, his chest throbbed painfully and water went into his lungs, then something hit him in the back and he spun up to the surface and took a gulp of air. He only just saw the lake before he was pulled under again.
He was swirling around under the water.
All he could do was keep any water from entering him by keeping his jaws shut tight.
Again he tried to churn his paws but pain went through his chest so badly that he almost died of agony.
He let himself be swept along while he didn't move.
Any time he tried to even move his tail the pain made it feel as though he was being ripped apart one slow piece at a time.
He let himself float limply along occasionally being bumped to the surface.
The sandy banks of the river had disappeared long ago and had opened into deep dark water.
In his mind somewhere it registered that this was the lake before he saw something looming in front of him.
It was never ending and he was swept onto it and then pulled back.
His fur tugged around him before he stopped moving in the water.
Then spasm gripped him-

Seedrush's eyes shot open.
His vision was returned to him but his chest throbbed so badly he didn't dare move.
Then it hit him.
I'm on the island!
He had been swept onto the island.
Thank you StarClan! Thank you for sparing my life!
He couldn't believe he was still alive.
But a voice talked in his head.
What if no one finds you? You can't move so you might die of hunger!
I can move!
Then do it!
Gathering all his strength he scrambled to his paws.
There was a moment silence.
Did I do it?!
Pain shot through his body and everything went black.

Water lapped at his ears and his brain was fuzzy.
He felt as though he was standing on his head.
Vaguely realised he was upside down with his head near the lake and his hindquarters higher on the bank.
Blood rushed to his head and he fainted.

Everything was dark.
The moon shone above him and couldn't remember where he was.
There was a throbbing in his chest and head, his fur was also wet.
Around him big trees whistled in the wind.
He stood up.
He knew he had to get somewhere but didn't know where.
He walked over to some reeds and found a big tree that went over the water.
He crossed and landed on the other side.
Where do I go now?
He looked to his left and saw some other beings on and flat piece of ground.
He walked up to them and they hissed at him.
"Get off our territory!" hissed one.
"Isth thisss your territoryyyy?" he asked and vaguely wondered why he sounded different.
Different from what? he asked himself.
"Yes this is our territory! Don't play games with us! We know you're from RiverClan!"
He stared at them blankly.
"Wheresssss Riv'rClan........" he could feel himself beginning to sway. "Ih'm not playinggggg gamesss,"
His legs crumpled beneath him and he flopped onto the grass.
The night got even blacker.
