zombie outbreak

Okay so this is my first story that i've ever written so please go easy on constructive critisism.

Also if there are spelling mistakes I apologize but I am writing this from my phone ;).. anyway me and my brother have had a zombie defence plan since we were younger and ive been inspired to write a book about a zombie outbreak. fair warning there may be a few cliché's ect but just roll with it okay ;)

(Hunter's POV)

I sprinted forward machete in hand toward the group surrounding skyler, I thrust my blade deep into the first zombies neck and tore its head from its body. Before the body hit the floor I had already leapt toward the second unfortunate inmate.

(Skylers POV)

They were closing in on me and I had backed myself into a corner. I held my bat tight in my hand ready to make a move when a decapitated head flew through the air and landed in the frey. Just then I saw a flash of silver as a second zombie fell. After a moments hesitation I blurred into action swinging my wooden bat this way and that flooring any walker that got too close.

As the group around me started to thin out I saw hunter butchering any zombie that so much as moved toward him. As we finished off the last of the infected prisoners hunter flashed my a small smile and sighed "do I always have to save you or did you have a plan?"

I shoved him playfully and replied "hey I had it under control" we both laughed "now lets get out of here I told you this was a bad idea"

Hunter looked at me "sky, it wasnt my idea to come here remember it was Marcus who said we should look for weapons in this prison but I agree lets split".

(Hunters POV)

As we sprinted down the flickering hallways of the dimly lit prison Marcus' voice crackled through the throat mic "any luck finding the armory?" he asked as we rounded a corner. I glanced at skyler and she shook her head "no marc, neither of us found anything but a bunch of hungry undead inmates, we are heading out now hows things on your end?"

There was a slight pause before Marcus replied "just about done we've cleared the walkers and were burning the bodies out back, Jake's just finished boarding the windows and jennifer got back from the town a few minutes ago, whats your ETA?"

As we cleared the front door of the local prison we skidded to a halt on the dusty gravel outside. "i saw a land rover parked outside the front gate on the way in so if the keys are in it we will be home withing the hour" I clicked the mic off and jogged over to the blue land rover with skyler at my heels panting loudly.

(skylers POV)

Hunter opened the drivers side door and we searched the interior for the keys and found them tucked away below the passenger seat. "all aboard" Hunter smiled as climbed in the back. As he inserted the keys into the ignition I glanced out the back window to see a group of walkers folowed us into the courtyard. "hurry Hunter they're behind us!" I squeeked. I saw him glance in the rear view mirror as he started the engine then he looked back at me with a grin on his face "better buckle up back there" and with that he reversed into the charging group of zombies painting the rear window with dripping red blood. He switched gears and accelerated toward the front gate that we had to climb on the way in.

As we broke free of the compound and took off down the highway in the direction of the werehouse where the others were holed up, I spotted something in the footwell. I reached down and withdrew the black leather satchel and peered inside. "hey hunter guess what I found! looks like we arent going back empty handed after all"

So I know its short but its my first story and its only the first chapter. next chapter you will meet some more characters and learn a bit more about their history as a group so it should be a lengthy chapter. anyway I hope your enjoying it so far :) like I said it is my first book so please go easy with critisism :) see you guys in the next update!
