Even I was wondering how the boys found out about my secret. It's not like I wrote it down or advertised it. But none the less, I was really hoping to find Jarydd at lunch because I did not want to sit alone.
I entered the lunch room, head hanging low and keeping aware of my surrounding. There was no way in hell I was going to get bullied again on my first day, I couldn't handle that.
"Kayser!" I heard someone say, a hand gripping my arm. My head whipped around to see Jarydd, who sat with a group of other boys. I waved, smiling politely to the group.
"How was your first classes, kid?" Jar asked, pulling me onto the bench beside him.
"Umm, well... Not great," I responded.
As if Jar had read my mind, he said, "Ah, Carson's crew already got to you, eh?" I nodded, not sure what else to do.
"Don't worry about them, they like to interrogate everyone and check if they are ga-.." Jar went silent, and I was sure he knew too.
"I'm sorry, I should have told you... I-I just really need a friend right now," I told him, turning to grab my bag so I could go. But to my surprise, Jar pushed down my lunch and told me to stay.
"It's okay, none of us will care.. Some of us are bi, but the rest have no judgement," he assured me. I looked at the boys along to the table, and most of them smiled brightly at me.
Finally, I had people who would accept me. Finally, I would have friends.
"Kayser, this is Joe, Mark, Justin, and Miles," Jar said, introducing me to the rest of the group.
"Hello Kayser, nice to meet you," Mark said, shaking my hand politely. "Don't worry about those boys you meet this morning. They did the same thing to me my first day last year."
I nodded, glad we already had something in common. Then, Miles said, "Hey, I'm having to boys over tonight, you should come!"
"Sure, where is it at?" I asked, looking the handsome boy over. He had a defined jawline, his skin shiny. His hair was brown, a bit darker than my dirty blonde. He was hot, no doubt about it!
"I live along the Hudson, little green house, the number is 15738," he told me.
[[ ps the number for his house is MADE UP!!! ]]
"Oh that's cool, we just moved into the blue house a few down the river. From what we heard, most people haven't stayed in the house longer than a few months," I said.
"Yeah, most couples haven't. Guess we'll see how your family does!" He said, both of us laughing. The bell rang it's ear piercing ring, signaling the end of lunch.
"Have a good day, everyone!" Jar said, taking all our trays to throw away. "See you all at Miles's house tonight."
As I walked away from the table, I felt happy, like I got a second chance. A second chance to live a good life.

As soon as I was home, my shoes were kicked to the corner and the TV was on. My mother wouldn't be home until late since her shift is from noon to midnight today, so I decided to relax.
I couldn't wait to hand out with the boys later, but needed to text my mother to make her aware is be gone.
Kayser: Hey mom, had a great first day! Friends invited me over down the street, so I'll be home by 10pm. xo
Mom: Have a fun time, sweetie! xo
As quick as I came, I was out the door and on my way to Miles's house. I ran, waving as I approached the cute green home.
"Hey, Kayser, how's it hanging?" Justin asked, patting my back.
"Great, didn't eat before I came though, kinda hungry," I admitted. Luckily, Miles said, "I haven't eaten either, let's order a pizza!"
We all nodded, following Miles into his home. It was about the same size as mine, but had more windows and was a completely different layout. The walls were all very bright, mostly white.
I could tell his family liked the beach since every table had a silky table cloth embroidered with shells. Paintings of water and fish hung on the walls, making the space feel very calm.
"What do you think?" Miles asked, putting his head on my shoulder next to my ear. He took me by surprise, sending a shiver down my back.
"It's very cute, looks like the perfect little beach house," I responded.
"Or, in this case, river house," he responded, making us both break into a fit of laughter. Before I could stop laughing, his hand slid in my front pocket, leaving a small note in it. Before he walked towards the couch, he whispered, "Read that when you get home."
I didn't know why, but my stomach filled with butterflies. I was both excited and nervous to see what he had written, and secretly prayed it wasn't bad.

(000) 000-0000
x, Miles
My heart pounded in my chest as I placed the note inside of my beside table. The x he placed before his name made me smile, and deep inside, I knew I really liked the boy down the river.
Yay, so happy to have the crew in the story now! Couldn't wait for you all to meet Miles, and hope you all like Kayser's new friends. Comment, vote, share, and have a great day!
