Your POV-
You stood in the rain as everyone was paying their respects. It just so happened to rain that day, which seemed fitting for the situation. And the rain helped to hide any tears that were unwanted.
~~~Flashback~~~
The funeral hadn't been planned right away. In fact, there was two days were there seemed to be no life in the castle, since the queen had been so kind to everyone and her passing left everyone in a depressed mood.
The two people affected the most by the queen's passing were of course the princess and the King. The King however seemed to have his spirit brought back into him after a bit, while the princess fell into a depressed state. She did not eat for a full four days and she rarely left her room. When she did, you could see the emptiness, as if she was just a shell of a human being.
The only person she actually talked to, was you. It seemed she only talked to you about how she really felt, because you had been through something similar. She even shut out her father. Sadly, her father was too busy with his own issues to notice his child's current frame of mind.
She kept blaming herself for her mother's death, saying that she had been so stupid not to notice her mother's condition until it had been too late.
~~~Flashback over~~~
Out of the corner of your eye you saw someone exit the courtyard, where the funeral was taking place. When you looked in the persons direction you saw that it was the princess.
Thinking it was strange that she would leave halfway through, you decided to follow her.
You wove your way through the crowd seeing many tear streaked faces. Or maybe it was just the rain.
You wiped away the rain that fell on your face, making it look like you were crying. That way, people wouldn't question why you were leaving the funeral.
It wouldn't make sense to stay out in the rain alone, so you assumed that the princess would be inside the castle.
Once you were completely out of the courtyard, you entered through a side door in the castle.

Hey guys! Sorry it took so long for me to update. I had been grounded and I couldn't think of any good ideas to put in the story. But I am back and I will try to get the next part out as soon as possible.
I left it on a cliffhanger for a reason :)
