Warning: suicide scene. It was needed for the plot of the story. I wouldn't put it in if it wasn't.

You entered the castle. Everything seemed quiet and you briefly wondered whether you had mistaken someone random for the princess. It also did seem rather strange that no one was in the castle, specially the servants. Then you remembered that they would all either be with their families or at the funeral.

You saw a flash of fabric. The princess on the other side of the castle. You swiftly walked towards the opposite side of the castle, it wasn't easy to run wearing heels. You pushed open a heavy door that had closed a few moments previous. Stepping back into the cold rain didn't bother you much, considering you were already soaked.

At first you didn't see anything but rain but as your vision adjusted you caught a glimpse of what seemed to be the princess.

You panicked seeing as she was nearing the gallows. Running towards her you saw what she was doing.  Your heart kept beating faster as you saw her standing on a small stool slowly bringing the noose over her head and then around her neck.

As you finally reached her you saw that she was crying. Noticing your presence she smiled weakly.

"Princess, what are you doing?" You asked fear making your voice shake.

"I can't do this anymore (y/n)." She replied her pain showing through her words.

"My mother is dead and my father simply cannot find it in his heart to care about his only daughter. Things were bad before but now.... I simply can't go on."

"Princess, please don't do this. You have so much to live for. Another death would put the kingdom in even lower spirits."

"(Y/N), I have already made my decision and you cannot change that. I am sorry for leaving you here alone but I am not supposed to be in this world any longer."

You couldn't think of a single thing to say. You knew that this was not the answer but your voice was stuck in your throat.

"You look so much like me, that could get you in trouble. Maybe sooner than you think."

Then, the princess kicked the stool that was under her, leaving you in shock.

You slowly sank to the ground knowing that the princess was long gone.

After a few minutes a maid entered the gallows, gasping as she saw the princess hanging limply above the ground.

Quickly running over to you she asked,
"What happened?"

"I got here right before she......I couldn't.... Do anything......my fault."

"Dear, this was not your fault. There was nothing you could do."

"She seemed so sure that this was the only way.... Not a single look of regret. No fear either."

"Dear we should really get you inside. You've had quite the ordeal today."

"Y-yes of course." You stuttered still in shock from what just happened.

As you went back into the castle you looked back one last time. The princess had a sad smile on her face.

I had writers block so this didn't turn out as well as I hoped. But I felt I needed to get this part published :)

It might be a few chapters until Arthur shows up.
