Soo if you want a song to match the mood, I wrote part of this chapter to Therapy by ATL. So if you wanna get the full effect listen to that song during the designated part okok.
Cara's POV
I was falling apart to say the least.
These two days had passed in a painful blur of laughs, hugs, kisses and teasing. I had managed to say goodbye to the guys without tipping them off that something was wrong. Tony was the only one I had to worry about as far as I knew; last night I had gotten up for a glass of water to find him sitting at the kitchen table 'reading' even though the book hadn't even been open. Something inside me knew something was up, knew that he was catching on. I didn't have much time to worry about that though. I just had to wait a few more hours and this would all be over.
It was now 9pm and we were all spread out at the kitchen table playing the card game 'spoons', only this time, if you lost, you had to drink a shot of whatever the winners mixed for you.
I sucked at this game but I didn't really care. If I could be drunk for tonight to numb the pain of what was coming to me, then all the better. I didn't want to be stumbling though, so I was thankful that Tony couldn't play the game for his life.
"Give me the spoon! Cara!" He shouted from across the table, both of us wrestling over the silverware.
"You let go! I will lick you." I threatened, getting up from my seat and preparing to lunge at his hand across the table. Everyone else burst out in laughter round us, but I was dead serious.
"No you won't." He challenged, tugging harshly on the spoon again. He asked for it.
"Cara, you better win. I think that shot might kill you, and we can't have one of the best present-givers develop some serious alcohol poisoning anytime soon. Christmas is just around the corner!" Mike winked at me. He had absolutely loved the drum set we got him, and hadn't stopped pressing the subject of thank you ever since he unwrapped it. Evelyn and I were both thrilled that he liked it.
I launched myself onto the wooden surface and brought my mouth to Tony's hand, licking the skin and praying to the heavens he washed his hands. He let out a yelp and immediately let go of the spoon. I snatched it up and fell back into my seat with a satisfied grin on my face.
This round's shot was exceptionally gnarly; it was a mix of almost every liquor we had in the house, and even partially drunk as I was, I doubted that I could keep it down.
Evelyn giggled wildly in her chair as Tony stared with distaste at the miniature cup in front of him. Vic sat next to me, his hand on my thigh under the table as they taunted Tony to drink it.
"Man up! Your girlfriend is sitting right next to you!" Jaime interjected, motioning to Evelyn who was grinning deviously at her boyfriend.
Tony grumbled something under his breath, uttered a 'fuck you guys' and knocked it back. I exploded into laughter as he began gagging, struggling hard to keep the concoction down.
"Glad it wasn't you." Vic leaned in and whispered to me, his lips just barely brushing my ear. I turned my head and planted a quick kiss on his lips.
"Me too." I giggled, trying to ignore the sinking sensation in my chest. This was the last night I'd ever experience any of this. My smile faltered almost immediately but I turned away just in time for Vic to miss it.
Tony finally sat back in his seat looking exceptionally green as we all prepped for another round. I tried my best to keep my energy up, but the way Tony was scowling at me made me uneasy; whether he was upset about his loss or knew what I was up to, I couldn't tell.
