Chapter One-Crushes
After a very productive weekend, which involved me sleeping and scoping out social media sites, I find myself getting ready for yet another Monday of high school. You see every good thing comes to an end. Sadly for the weekends that end comes too quickly. Now I wouldn't be complaining if we didn't have to wake up so early. My car is in my driveway awaiting to be started, while i'm in my bed awaiting for the next weekend. Can't you tell I dislike high school? Although there is one exception to the whole place. Five people in particular. My three best friends of course, Chris, and a certain fellow. Cameron Dallas to be exact. The whole boy and girl friendship thing is cliche, it really is. Trust me I see those types of friendships as best friends flirting with each other all the time and not knowing it. Sad it really is. Their love is blinded by the giant neon sign plastered on both of their foreheads. That sign? Well of course it has two words on it, "Friend Zone". And it's usually the guy being so called friend zoned, but come on let's not be stereotypical here. The girl could always get friend zoned too. It's just less likely. Why am I going on about boy, girl friendships? The reason is because that boy Cameron Dallas I was talking about used to be best friends with me. The couch potato. We were best friends since second grade actually. But then as time went on we started to separate on our own paths. In middle school our friendship was broken apart. Nothing involved hating each other. We never ever hated each other at any given time. We just stopped talking. Now we're both seniors in high school and we became friends again, still not talking as much as those eight year old versions of us were, but friends. Over the span of time I became best friends with three gals. Peyton, Samantha, and Skyler. Some times they're annoying but hey arn't we all?
I decided it's probably best to get ready. With an annoyed sigh and some foot movement that I think was performed on Dancing With The Stars, I emerged from my cacoon of blankets. My really warm and fluffy cacoon, might I add. No I don't have a personal bathroom like some people. I have to share with my two sisters. My two sisters that are at college so yeah I guess I do have my own bathroom. Score.
The closet doors opened to a loud creak. Fun. My eyes scanned over every visible piece of cloth in front of me. It's November. Although it's also California. I ended up settling on high waisted black pants, my favorite California muscle tank top and a thin olive army jacket. Before I leave the house, I'll throw on some ankle boots and a statement necklace. Perfect. I brought my outfit to the bathroom and set it on the counter.
The clock in the bathroom said six forty-six. I had to be at the school by seven thirty so if I took a quick shower, towel dryed my hair, then put it into in a braid I'd still have enough time to do makeup and grab some breakfast out of the fridge. Apple is the best idea I can think of that is all set to be grabbed and washed off.

When I made my way into the school, I noticed all the girls were looking down the other end of the hallway. Thing was they looked like Ryan Gosling just brushed past them. All of those girls were strange to begin with anyways. My locker was right beside the water fountains. And it's terrible especially after gym class lets out. Disgusting. My bookbag has all I need for my first two classes since they assigned homework. No locker for now. Ah ha. I really hate my locker.
The first bell rang for homeroom and I wasted no time getting into room 208. The extra room for study halls. We come in here for the duration of lunch. The teachers don't care as long as we stray away from trouble. All we do is group together and work on yearbook. The group consists of Peyton, Sam, Sky, Cameron, and Chris. Yes I do look forward to lunch every single day baby!
Some stray students found their way into the classroom as soon as the late bell rang. Lucky. Discreetly our advisor took attendance. He's also a teacher for Trigonometry. In other words we don't see each other much. And I've already forgotten his name. I'm a terrible student, I really am.
"Gracie!" Chris exclaimed putting his snapback on my head and proceeding to push it down to my nose. Thus frizzing up my hair. Honestly in a perfect world I would get back at him with some master plan. But master plans include math and that's unacceptable. So i'll probably end up doing the same thing I always do and just attempt to poke his eyes. Used to it Chris put his hand sideways against the bridge of his nose. Stupid defense tactic!
"You suck." I stuck my tongue out at him, earning an eye roll from on lookers. It really is the same thing every morning.
"Guys look at that." Sam pointed towards a desk which was being occupied by none other than Cameron Dallas. He was talking to three girls. They were all sisters and they were absolutely adoring him. They were looking at him with some sort of puppy look. It was weird seeing Cameron being admired by girls his age. Okay that sounded mean. Just they're idolizing him for some reason. Their faces were scary looking almost. Fake.
"Triplet power." I mumbled, which managed to get a crack out of Sky and Chris. Next thing you know they're going to hypnotize Cameron into moving in with them. Jealousy did pang in my chest although it really shouldn't have. Cameron probably helped them out with something and they were thanking him simultaneously with that alien look. There's nothing to be jealous about. The boy can do whatever he wants.
The girls frowned as Cameron stood up and slowly walked towards us. I decided to sit down instead of just standing. Our gang migrated to the cluster of desks in front of us. Everyone sat down except Peyton. She was too busy talking to her boyfriend. No surprise there. Before they would never talk to each other. I'm serious. Rarely hung out together. He asked her out freshman year, and I think they remembered they were in a relationship last year so they began to do couple stuff. The whole ordeal is strange, but extremely funny to embarrass them about it.
Cameron sat next to me cutting out any thoughts that were going through my head. He emerged into a conversation with Chris about one of the teachers. Have you ever admired someone just for being in your life? Cam looked perfect today, not that he doesn't always. Just he was glowing. Grinning. Happy. You could metaphorically see the sparkle in his eyes. I felt a smile of my own creep onto my face. In a perfect world, hapiness would be contagious. I always loved to see people happy wheather I like the person or not. Nobody deserves to be in a secluded world of misery
"Stop." Sky laughed, jabbing me in the side with a book. I was about to ask what her issue was, but the laughter from everyone else was more than an answer. When Sky pulled me out of my thoughts my gaze was focused on Cameron. I was staring at him like two minutes ago. This was different I zoned out. Now I won't hear the end of it because of what it looked like. Great.
Although it was what it looked like.
