-"Here you are. The cab driver said.
-You sure it's here ?? David asked confused.
-Yes I told you I grew in a farm." I replied a bit ashamed.
We got off the cab then walked into the snow to the little house across the field. We had to cross all the land to be finally here. How could I forget this house ?? All my childhood was in it. Good as bad memories, especially bad. I grabbed David's arm and tightened it. Each step was a descent into hell for me.
-"Don't forget what I told a few weeks ago love, they're your parents and even if they don't show it often, they love you. David tried to reassure me.
-You're right, I must try." I confirmed sure of myself.
David smiled then kissed my forehead.
We arrived in front of the door. My arm was very heavy before I reached the ring bell.
A few minutes later, an old woman opened to us. She had the same brown eyes as me. She was smaller and she was wearing a flower dress from the 40s. She seemed old fashioned like if she was trying to avoid what was happening since the end of the World War II.
No doubt it was my mother.
-"Hi, mom. I articulated  very moved.
-Victoria ?? She asked confused and lost.
-Yes mom, that's me."
I smiled at her, my eyes started to watering.
She burst immediately in tears while she hugged me as tight as she could. I heard her cry and it's precisely at this moment that I realized how much I hurt and missed her all these years since my fugue when I was 17.
"My baby, is back at home." She screamed of joy still hugging me.
I looked at David who was smiling and moving his finger from the bottom of his eye.
"Saw you !" I winked at him then he giggled.
-"The hell are you talking with ?? My mother asked misunderstanding.
-Mom, let me introduce you to David, my boyfriend." I said happily.
When she heard the word "boyfriend" her expression changed.
-"Mrs George, it's a pleasure to finally meet you. David said politely as a gentleman.
-Glad to meet you too, David." She replied firmly as she's allowed to talk. David looked at me a bit embarrassed I raised my eyebrows and bit my lower lip. I grabbed his hand then we went to the living room where my father was.
Nothing has changed, everything has changed.
He was smoking his pipe while he was sitting on his chair, reading the newspaper.
-"Darling, Victoria is here. My mother informed him.
-Victoria who ?? He replied on a dry tone still reading the news.
-Your daughter." My mother replied exasperated.
He looked up at me with the look he gave me when I made a bullshit younger.
Then he slowly approached me.
When he was close, he smacked me. I felt his strong hand on my face. I knew that David was getting angry beside me he really wanted to kill my father. I grabbed his hand to force him to stay calm.
"So here you are, after all these years !!" He shouted at me.
My mother who was still shocked by the slap I took caught my father arm before he gave me another one.
"Henry !!" She yelled.
Then his expression became kinder.
-"I'm sorry Victoria, I shouldn't have done that but... He tried to explain sad of his action.
-That's okay, I needed it. I admitted. All this time waiting for me, without a call or a letter... I'm sorry too. I wanted a new life away from here and it was hard at the beginning but since I met David my life took another sense."
I saw that my mother was crying of joy or pain I don't know and my father's expressions seemed got a little bit stronger then he asked :
"Who's this David ??" My father asked.
I realized I forgot to introduce him to my father.
-My name is David Jones sir, and I'm very enchanted to meet you. David said enthusiasm shaking hands with my father.
-Same for me. My father replied with a little smirk on his face, which was very rare.
Then we made our way to my teenage room.

"Hello my dear room you don't know how much I missed you !" I exclaimed jumping on the bed. I sighed of happiness looking at my old posters of Bob Dylan, the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Elvis, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Led Zeppelin... I heard David giggled before laying on me.
"Why I'm not on this beautiful wall me ??" He asked his face very close to mine.
I grabbed his hair then kissed him passionately.
"Because it's only people that I like on it, and I adore you. I replied between two tender and loving kisses.
Then he put his hands under my blue shirt then try set my breasts free from my bra.
-"Stop ! We're not gonna make out in my room in my parents' house under Jimi or Elvis' eyes. I protested while I was burning of desire.
-Maybe next time, then, without all these people ?? He asked frustrated.
-Next time I promise, moreover dinner might be ready now." I smiled at him. Then he kissed me one more time before leaving me on the bed.

-"So David tell us more about yourself. My father asked first while we were waiting my mother and her chicken speciality from Tennessee.
-Well, I'm a musician sir. David responded gently and embarrassed.
-Musician, isn't really easy, did you record something ??
-Yes I did, I recorded many albums, my sixth was recorded in October.
-And how did you meet Victoria ?? My mother asked while she brought the chicken pie from the oven.
-Well, she was at work, in her little shop and I wanted to buy some Stones and Elvis records. I saw her sitting on her stool with her beautiful smile and her beautiful eyes. She was the prettiest thing of my day.
My mother smiled at the story.
-But I swear Vicky I've already seen you before."
David confirmed.
I smiled at him, I thought the same.
The dinner was correct until my father asked if David was married. So he responded that he was divorced from his wife and he had a child named Ducan who was 3 and the sadness he had to live with this witch of Angie. I hadn't asked my father about the custody yet, but he guessed by himself that he had to do something for him. It was the nervous part of the evening.
The funniest was when my mother asked if we were getting married in the future. We didn't know what to say, nobody gave a complete and correct answer, we both didn't know when we had to get engaged but we both wanted it.
After two more hours of conversations we finally got back to my room.

-"So, what'd you think of the day and especially my parents ?? I asked anxious.
-They're very good. I told you it's their method with you which wasn't good not because they don't love you. He said calmly
-Glad you found them right but they will have many lunches and dinners before our departure, enough time to see the dark side of my parents. I replied stressed.
-Even if I'm not their kind of man, I'm not going to leave you Victoria Deborah George.
-Me too, David Robert Jones."
Then we hugged tight before laying in my little bed.
By the time, my mother's chicken speciality gave me stomachache as always when I eat it too much but this time it was stronger.
