For the first time since starting at Casper high school Danny was early. Like really early. Not even Sam was there and she was usually one of the first to arive other than the teachers and nerds. All of which just stared wide eyed and open mouthed as the raven haired boy waved goodbye to his ginger sister. Now not only had he spoken up in class only yesterday but was at school early. Danny stood Leaning against a tree near the main gate as he waited for Sam and tuck. As expected Sam was first to arive and not long followed by Tucker. Both had similar expressions to everyone eles "Danny your early!" They had both exclaimed earnest a nod and chuckle from Danny.
"Yeah no ghosts at all since yesterday while I was hear with my parents talking to Lancer, I would find it worrying if I wasn't finally so... well.... happy" Danny smiles before walking to class the same bounce in his step as when he walked to school.
Not only early for once Danny felt he was able to let himself relax a bit. It didn't seem that any ghost would show. Since that hooded man smacked skulker around they seemed to be staying well away from Danny, almost like even being near him would give the human a reason to attack. And the human had immensely greater and more advanced weapons then Danny and his family did. It was odd thinking about it. Almost like he was from a different time altogether but. That's impossible. While waiting for Mr. Lancer to arrive Danny doodled small pictures in the back of his history book. Mainly small sketches of himself in phantom form and Sam. Sam, she was so pretty why couldn't he just admit it already. He loved her and there shouldn't be any denial of it but he just couldn't muster the courage to say it. Which is actually a little ironic thinking about it. Danny Fenton amity parks own ghost boy. The hero complex driven phantom who had saved everyone more then they knew was afraid to admit his feelings for a girl.
The very thought made him chuckle. Gaining the attention of everyone in the room. That being all the nerds like Mickey and Nathaniel, the few a-listers who had also managed to get hear be for the teacher namingly Kwan, star, paulina and Ricky and lastly his two best friends Sam and Tucker "dude what's up with you? First you actually answer a question with extreme detail when your grades are failing then your hear earlier then even sam and now you laughing at nothing! Are you ok?" Tucker expresses with concern showing for his freinds mental health.
"I'm fine Tucker really, and just 'cause my grades suck doesn't mean I don't listen, I just don't pay attention to all the tests. Also I was laughing because I thought of something funny but that's not important and... oh good morning Mr. Lancer" Danny rambles as he notices the mentioned teacher walk in. Said teacher looms up and spits his coffee out "Gullivers travels ! Daniel!? Your... your hear on time!?" He says surprised nor so the the students
"actually sir early I've been hear for a while now, it seems you were right walking with jazz did help me get hear on time" the raven haired boy says grinning from ear to ear. The teacher just sets his coffee mug and books on his desk and sits down "to kill a mockingbird" he exclaims which nothing left to say. He was to say the least not expecting the youth to become organized this quick. And not to mention his mood, the boy was clearly happier then usual.
Dash Baxter strolls in immediately walking to Danny "so you made it on time for once fenturd, good I get to punch you longer today" he whispers so only the extremely over happy boy could hear "on the contrary dash I think you'll find you won't lay a finger on me today because I will be in hear all day, studying. Which means that Mr Lancer will always be watching and we wouldn't want him to get you kicked off the team now would we" Danny smirks picking up his maths text book and opening it to the page they were currently working from. Shocked at this answer dash snarls "you won't get off that easily fenturd, I'll just have to beat you to a pulp after school when your not cowering under the cover of teachers!" Dash sneers. This caught the attention of Mr Lancer "Mr Baxter leave Daniel alone and get into your seat, class open your books to page 102 and continue from yesterday, if you need help just call" he says. Danny smiles and gets to work. As the day goes by Danny barley moved he spent both his lunch and interval studying to catch up on anything he was behind in and only left for science when they went to the lab. It was now last period of the day, everyone was seated in the hall of Casper high as Mr. lancer, jazz and and employee of the local nasty burger stood up on stage "good evening everyone, today im happy to announce that we will be Having the C.A.T tests next week, achieve high like miss fenton who achieved the highest score in the history of the cats and your garenteed a good life, score low like grease pot, who achived the lowest score and you'll end up scraping the grease of the grills at the nasty burger, the future is not set in stone, but it can be carved with a number 2 pencil" Mr lancer says locking the test answers in a breif case around his wrist. The nasty burger employee stands "ill have you know it takes a lot of thought working at the nasty burger, if the 40 ingrediants of the nasty sauce from our nasty burgers gets to hot it'll let off an explosion big enough to flatten the whole block!" He says. When he realizes that nobody cares he mutters "Oh forget it I'm outta hear" before walking off
"right as I was say in do well on The cats and success is yours for life" lancer says as the bell signaling home sounds. Groans are heard round the room Even the unusually happy Danny frowns "great and I was having a good day to" he mutters pouting. Tests, for anyone who hadn't noticed, where the halfas weak point. He could never complete them. Even if he knew the answer he would just blank out and write utter nonsense, or for multiple choice ones he would end up ticking the wrong boxes. He just couldn't do it for some reason, he couldn't focus. And the cats tests were the most important, you could flunk every other test and be fine. but fail the cats and you would baisicly fail life. The only one who has ever fully aced the test was his sister who beat the average of fifty of the seventy correct by answering sixty eight. She had come in to tell the class of irritated fourteen going on fifteen year olds that if they set there minds to it they could do great. Danny didn't listen instead he went back to being the quiet depressed sleeping in the back kid that he had been since forever. Why be happy when you know your going to fail the most important tests ever.
