Chapter 1
I'm finally leaving the bastards. My 17th birthday just passed and I can finally leave. I'm at the airport waiting for the announcer to call my flight to Melbourne. My auntie Cindy moved there when I was just 7, and I've talked to her everyday since. I've been waiting since i was 9 to move there with my aunt. And i'm finally doing it. I'm finally getting away from the people who have tortured me for years and years. I'll finally be free.
"FLIGHT 295 READY TO BOARD" the announcer says over the crowed airport sound system. I have my earphones in, listening to music, so I didn't hear it. Until I see my aunt walking over with her carry on.
Soon, everything starts to come to me. "IM LEAVING!!!!" I jump out of the stiff airport plastic seats and run with my phone and carry on in my hands over to my aunt Cindy, who was waiting in line for the ticket check.
This is the happiest I've been in a while. I mean, my parents haven't been the best parents. They were my parents and, let me say, they were the worst at being parents. They abused and insulted me constantly. Which left me very unstable. I'm finally going somewhere where I might be happy for once.
"Ma'am?" the flight attendant says trying to get my attention. I apologize as I hand him my passport. I guess he can see the giant smile across my face because he starts laughing.
"Excited..Ellie?" he asks me as he looks at my passport.
"Sir, you have no idea!!" I reply with no hesitation. He wishes me good luck as he hands me back my passport and I make my way down the corridor to the plane.
Australia. Finally. We booked this 3 months ago and I've been jumping out of my skin ever since. I've been waiting for this moment for years! And it's finally happening!
As I walk onto the plane and try to find my seat, my mind starts to race. Good things and bad things. Like, what if I don't like it there? What if my mom and dad find out where I'm going?
I finally find my seat, and plop down in it with a sigh. I put my earphones in as I look out the window and just watch the men in the bright orange coats running along the track.
Five minutes go by and I feel a tap on my shoulder. I look over while taking out an ear plug to see who it was. When I saw who it was I couldn't believe my eyes.
"Excuse me..," he said in his alluring Australian accent, "I believe I'm sitting here too.." He says cockily pointing to my carry on bag on the seat next to me.
"S-sorry," I say in shock while moving my bag and putting it on the floor.
"No problem," he says with a laugh, "good thing you're pretty."
I didn't smile. My eyes were glued right on him. His lip hair, his smile, his eyes.
I guess he noticed because he soon looked at me, but I didn't look away.
"Um," he spoke uncomfortably, "I'm Jai, Jai Brooks."
"I know exactly who you are!" I said, basically screamed. I've always been a big fan of him and his brothers, and Daniel and James. The Janoskians were my obsession. If i was having a bad day or was feeling just the least bit down, just by watching one video of theirs would make me smile.
He started laughing and I looked down shamefully. "Sorry," I said embarrassed, "I'm Ellie by the way.." I said, still not looking up.
Right at that moment the flight attendants go over the safety precautions and everything. But I just can't get over the fact that I'm sitting next to the guy that helped save my life.
I couldnt believe it. Jai. Fucking. Broooks was sitting right beside me. Me! How fucking lucky is that??
I looked over at him, holy shit he was perfect. The small lights above the stiff airplane seat where he was sitting were shining down on him in a way that seemed so heavenly. I guess i was staring at him like a retard because when he noticed i was looking at him, he laughed and smiled uncomfortably. I looked away quickly and stared down at my shoes.
"Ah, it's alright babe, I'm used to the stares of fans, especially the cute ones." he adds with a flirty giggle and wink.
What the fuck just happened, I thought to myself. Jai Brooks. Just called me babe. Me. Me. I bet he calls everyone babe, but i dont know. This just gave me a weird feeling inside, but i kind of liked it.
I felt my cheeks heating up and my breath beginning to speed up as i tryed to keep calm.
"Hey.." he asked, looking concerned. "You alright? You look sick.."
I started to feel dizzy and began to think if i was feeling this way because i was sitting next to Jai, or something else.
I cleared my throat, "Um, yeah," i answer, sounding out of breath, "Can i go to the bathroom?" I'm starting to sweat really bad. He unsurely moves out of the way as i get out of my seat and squeeze by him.
As i start to walk down the thin hallway of the plane, my vision goes blurry and i wipe the sweat from my forhead with my sleeve. I start to stumble and almost trip over my feet. I get up and continue walking towards the door. I'm almost there. Just a few more steps. As i take one more step, my legs give out. I hear someone yelling, and some people running over to me. As i feel myself getting carried off the plane floor, everything suddenly goes black.
