Holly's POV
"Does the cafeteria have gluten free food?" Kendal asked.
"I'm sure it does." I shrugged.
"Er- sure, I'll go." Lauren offered.
I sighed thankfully. "Rowan?"
"I'd rather starve."
"Your loss." I headed for the door with Lauren and Kendal behind me. As soon as we got out Kendal walked in front of me and I kept in pace with Lauren.
"These roommates are not what I expected." I whispered to Lauren.
"A girl who wants to kill us and a stuck up snob." Lauren agreed.
We got to the elevator and waited for it to come. Ding. There were a few older girls. The ground floor button was already pressed so we just stood and waited to go down.
Kendal was the first out of the elevator. "Where is it?"
I pointed at a sign labeled 'Cafeteria and Classrooms.' "That way."
"I already knew that."
I rolled my eyes and followed. We came to an enormous room full of lunch tables. We walked over to where the food was. There were lines labeled Sandwiches, Hot Lunch, Gluten Free, Nut Free, and Dairy Free.
"There's your gluten free lunch." I pointed out.
"I see that." Kendal stuck her nose in the air and marched off.
I went in the Hot Lunch line behind an Asian girl with dark neck length hair and blonde highlights.
"Hey." I said.
"Hi." She sounded friendly enough to keep talking to.
"I'm Holly."
"I'm Tiffany. Are you in grade one too?"
"Yeah."
"Cool." She smiled.
"What room are you in?" I asked.
"Uhh..." She thought for a moment.
"Eight."
"I'm in fourteen."
We got to the front of the line and got our lunch. I chose to have some turkey and drizzled a bit of gravy over it. I added a bag of chips and an apple. I bought it and looked for a table to sit at.
Lauren beckoned me over to a empty table.
"Come eat with me, and bring your friend as well." Tiffany smiled.
"Ok, thanks." I grabbed Lauren and followed her.
We sat down with Tiffany's roommates.
"This is Krystal, Jane, and Eliza." She said. "That's Holly and..?"
"L-Lauren." She stuttered.
"Lauren." Tiffany repeated.
"Hi." I said to them.
"Hey." Krystal smiled.
"What's up?" Said Eliza.
Jane just looked around and nodded slightly. "Hi."
We talked and ate until we were full.
"Do you guys wanna explore the campus?" Tiffany asked.
"Sure." Most of us agreed.
"I don't know... What if we get lost?" Jane questioned.
"We won't, besides, they have maps." Tiffany reassured her.
"Maps are old." Eliza laughed.
"Whatever." Tiffany replied. "Let's go!"
