lily is infuriating. so is ollie.

both of them are as infuriating as the other is.

we sit on a couch in myer, and my phone buzzes. taking it out of my pocket, it's matt from the bookshop. at least, that's what it says.

"hey guys, i'll be back," i say.

they nod, and as i walk away, their eyes are pointedly not looking at the other at all. there's an awkward silence between them, with ollie starting with a "... so."

i slide my thumb across the screen and hold the phone up to my ear.

"hello?"

"dex, right?"

"yep."

"it's matt, from the bookshop. uh, i was wondering if you were free this afternoon?"

"yeah, i think."

"would you go on a date with me?"

i shake my head internally, facepalming at how awkwardly cute he is. i bite my lip though, worrying about what mum and dad would think or do if they found out. but it's my life.

"... sure," i bite my lip, smiling.

"is it okay if you meet me at the bookshop today?" he says, sounding hesitant and uncertain.

"of course," i nod, and he says goodbye, before we hang up.

this is exciting, for me. but still, the only thing i'm scared about is how mum and dad will take it when they find out.

i know, this isn't the best chapter in the universe or probably what you were hoping for and i'm sorry. since school's nearly finished, i'll hopefully be uploading more. (:
