Maya's POV

I walk into school after missing 2 weeks because of my mom's trip to Oregon for her job. She is still there. She decided to send me home to my step dad, Derek

I run to one of my best friends ,Riley, and basically leap onto her

"Riles!!" I yell

We haven't seen each other in like 3 weeks!

"Maya!!" She yells and hugs me

Just then he walks in

Lucas Friar

The one I have loved since the 7th grade

The one that made me blush every time he looked at me

The one that seems to never notice how much I care

I haven't seen him in over a month

I missed him a lot. Everyone thought of us as just classmates. But only I knew that I liked him more than a classmate, or even a good friend

But no one can know

If he found out I loved him, he would leave. Just like my father

My mind tells me that the best option is to keep my feelings locked inside

But my heart knows that keeping my feelings locked up will cause even more trouble than setting them free

He walks over to his group of friends

"Farkle! What's up!?" He says with his adorable smile and laugh

"Not much, how about you Lucas" Farkle says to him

"Maya!!" Riley yells, waving her hand in front of my face

"What are you staring at?" Riley asks as she tries to look where my eyes were wondering

Just then she walks through the door

Missy Bradford

She is one year older than us. She has brown hair, brown eyes, and a perfect body

How can Lucas not like her?

I turn away from her and frown to Riley

Missy has hated us since the day we met her. She always bullies us and flirts with Lucas

Riley grabs my arm and leads me to the classroom

Our first class is history with Mr.Matthews

I sit in my seat, which is conveniently placed in front of Lucas' desk

I rest my elbow on his desk as he comes in and sits down

Class soon begins and takes forever to be over

Our next class is P.E.

And since this is our last week of school before Christmas break, we only have to run half of a mile. Then we spend the rest of the time playing games

After everyone is done running we all get called into the middle for games

"Everyone gather round" Our P.E. teacher calls out

"I am gonna pair you off into two teams. Team one goes to the red wall. Team two goes to the blue wall" He says as he starts numbering us off

Riley and I know the numbering system he uses to pair us off, so we get put on the same team. Team one

Lucas, Farkle, and of course Missy are on Team two

On Riley and I's team we have Sarah, Darby, and Yogi
