#4-Voices

Maya's POV

He leaned in, which confused me a bit considering he said this was illegal just a little while ago

He kept leaning and and he started to close his eyes

I really wanted to lean in and kiss him, but for some reason, I backed away

"I'm sorry, I can't" I say and stand up

"No, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that. I guess that's what people mean by getting caught up in the moment" He says and chuckles

"Yeah, I-I gotta go" I say and run off

Why did you do that!? You could have kissed him! You've liked him for forever and when you had the chance to kiss him you blew it!

Ugh! I'm so stupid!

I walk back to the Matthew's place

I walk up to the door and open it. Or at least I try to. It's locked!

How is it locked? I didn't lock it. Did Josh lock it? Why would he lock it? This is horrible! Now I'm trapped out in the cold streets of New York!

I jiggle the door handle a little and it opens

Wow! What an idiot! First you miss your chance to kiss Josh, then you freak out over literally nothing!

I walk inside, greeted by a gentle breeze of warm air. I shrug my coat off and walk back into Riley's room

I sit on her bed and open her diary again

What a horrible friend. Snooping around in your best friends room and reading her diary!

Maybe I shouldn't be reading this

I close the diary and set it back in the top drawer of Riley's dresser, making sure to put it under her neatly folded clothes

I walk into the kitchen and sit on a chair by the table

I want food!

You had a coffee, that's enough calories for you today. Drink some water

I haven't eaten in three days!

And yet you still look like a cow

I'll just have one apple

You can have a cup of water

Ugh! Why do you hate me!?

Um, I am you. And why shouldn't I?

Why do I talk to myself so much?

You're not talking to yourself, you're talking to me

You just said you are me so- Okay, now I am arguing with myself!

I wish I was normal and didn't have voices inside my head that criticise everything I do!

Is it normal to talk to yourself?

I look at the clock on the wall.

I still have 2 hours of waiting before I can go to the doctor

I walk back into Riley's room and grab her makeup bag. I take it to her mirror and start caking my face

I did the usual. Foundation, concealer, bronzer, highlighter, mascara, and some tinted chapstick

Okay, that had to of taken at least an hour

Ugh!

Okay, I'll do my hair

I walk into Riley's bathroom and grab her curling iron. I curl my hair and only burn myself once

I wonder what Riley has in her closet

I open it and see a lot of yellow and pink. Many floral print vests and dresses. Ugly brown khaki's. Some ugly sneakers. One pair of heels. And a big bucket of belts

Riley, you need a makeover

I shut her closet door and walk to her dresser

I open the top drawer to see her shirts. One galaxy, a few floral print, two yellow, two pink, and one with a taco on it

I close it and open the second drawer. Pants. There are some regular jeans, two pair of leggings, some ugly khaki's, and three pairs of shorts

Riley, why are your clothes so ugly?

I shut her drawer and decide to go get some water

I walk into the kitchen and grab a cup

"We're home!" Mr. Mathews yells as he walks through the door

I drop the cup and it shatters on the floor

"Holy fuck" I say

"Maya Penelope Hart! Watch your mouth!" Mr.Matthews scolds

"Sorry, you scared me" I say, bending down to pick up the broken glass

I picked up a shard and it cut my index finger

"Shit" I wince in pain

"Maya!" Mr.Matthews yells

"Sorry, I just cut my finger" I say

"How bad is it?" Riley asks as she and her father walk up to me

"Not to bad, but it's bleeding a little" I say

"I'll get you a bandaid" Mr.Matthews says and walks away

"You look nice Maya" Riley says smiling

"Oh, thanks. I used your makeup and your curling iron, I hope that's okay" I say, messing with one of my curls

"It's fine, you look amazing" She says

Lies

"Thank you" I smile

Mr. Matthews walks in with a bandaid and places it gently onto my finger

"Okay, Maya, you ready to go to the doctor" Mr.Matthews asks

"I've only been waiting all day" I smile as I grab my jacket

"Let's go!" Riley exclaims as she runs out the door

This should be fun!

Sorry for skipping a week, school is back and taking over my life again!

The next chapter will have some cute Rilaya moments while they are waiting at the doctor, so be excited!
