Maya's POV

"You never fucking wake up when I tell you!" I hear my step-father yell as he slams open my door

I get out of bed and quickly get ready for school

I crawl out of my bedroom window and begin my walk to Riley's

"Good morning, Riles!" I say as I crawl in through the window

"Morning, Peaches. Ready to take on the world?" She says

"Always, as long as I have you with me" I say

We both link arms and crawl out of the window and walk to the subway

"So... last night?" Riley says

"Yeah?" I say

"You and Lucas. You kissed. And it seemed passionate" Riley explains

"It was just a dare. And you two kissed too" I say

"Ours was not as good. And if it was 'just a dare' then why did you leave right after?" Riley asks

"It was just a lot happening at once. You seemed pissed, Farkle seemed upset, and Lucas. Well, I don't even know how Lucas seemed to feel. Embarrassed maybe. I don't know. I just needed to get out of there" I explain

"I'm sorry for being so rude last night. It was just a little upsetting to see my crush flirting with another girl" Riley frowns

"Lucas was not flirting with me" I defend

"He totally was" She says

"How?" I ask

"The way that he looked at you. And he was stealing your jokes and making you laugh" She says

"Riley, he does that with you too. He likes you. He doesn't like me. You got that, Riles?" I tell her

"Okay" She smiles

We get off the subway and walk into hell- I mean school

We walk into Mr.Matthews class and sit down next to each other

"Good morning class. How are all of your group projects going?" Mr. Matthews starts the class

He looks around the class

"Yogi! How is your group doing on this project?" Matthews asks

"Good. We are on question six of eight. So I think we're doing alright" He says

"Good. Dave! How about your group?" Matthews asks again

"We're only on question four, so I don't know" Dave says meekly

"That's alright. Darby! How is your group?" He asks

"We're on question five" she says

"That's good.. Maya! How is your group doing on this project?" He looks at me

"Um. We're on question three, so uh we're doing the worst" I smile

"The worst of a group isn't always bad. The projects are due tomorrow though, so you might want to get working" Matthews says
