Freezing cold air hits her face when she steps out into the world outside. She looked around to see a forest with tall trees all around and one winding path disappearing into the woodland shadows. The girl followed the path away from her old home. While not looking, she tripped over a rather large fallen branch. "Ouch." She picks herself up and sees that her ribbon fell out. She picks it up and tilts her head. Why does she still wear it?
"Because if you look cuter, people won't hit you as hard."
The girl gasped and turns around to see someone behind her. Another girl with pale skin and light ginger brown hair. Her red eyes shine like rubies. The only thing really odd was that she floats. She would say being transparent was strange if she hadn't met Napstablook in the ruins. This girl was human though. Or looked like it.
"Oh....you can see me? I thought you can only hear me?"
"I heard you?"
"Who do you think translated the froggit speech for you? Anyway, greetings. I'm Chara."
The girl walks with Chara at her side. It wasn't that far when she heard a loud snap behind her. Turning around, she was surprised to see the branch that tripped her was now broken. But there was nobody there. That was scary so she picked up her pace until she came up to a wooden plank fence. The bars were wide apart. Chara looks at the girl. "Close your eyes. I don't know what it is but if it's from where I was, not everything there is nice."
The girl did as told and closed her eyes. Even though she did this, she still saw clearly. Continuing to stand at the fence, she grew frightened of the sound of approaching footsteps. The crunching snow got louder and louder until it stopped. She could hear the breathing.
"human....don't you know how to greet a new pal? turn around and shake my hand." A low voice spoke and she slowly turns around, reaching out her hand timidly. Her hand is squeezed and then... A fart noise?
Looking up from her hand, she saw who stood in front of her. A skeleton. He was taller than her and had a grin on his face. He had two upper fangs. He wears a blue hoodie over a white shirt and black shorts with white stripes. His shoes were house slippers. Pink ones at that. He looked round despite having no flesh on his bones. No joke intended. He gave a wink, which was also strange but she ignored it. "the old whoopee cushion in the hand trick. it's always funny." The girl shook off her surprise and actually thought back to it. It actually was funny. She giggles into her hand.
"It was. Sorry. I was just surprised by you." He paused. Giving the girl a strange look but shrugs, keeping one eye closed. "i'm sans, sans the skeleton. you're a human right? that's hilarious. i'm actually supposed to be on the look out for humans right now." The girl flinched at that but he continued on. "but i'm not interested in capturing them. my brother papyrus is though. he's a human hunting fanatic."
The girl follows his line of sight through the gate and seeing a taller skeleton. He had a stranger outfit. She shivers and looked at Sans. He seems to notice the shaking and took off his blue jacket and draped it over her shoulders. "here. don't want you to be frozen down to the bone."
