Chapter 4

Michael POV

Have you ever wondered why life is complicated ... Well mine is more than complicated . Truth is I am a grown adult 26 as that who is living with my parents . It is a privilege to live with parents , but not mine . Thing is my father is a drunk and mother I don't know how to really describe my mother but she is likely different , she is humble and gentle will Dad everything we do he just get all mad at us , infact he doesn't work nor contribute in the house .

The little money that mother and I make to keep up the household sometimes if we don't be careful in the house Dad stole the money and use it on smokes and liquor . life for me and mother is worst than we could ever imagine . I been running around looking for work with better payments but all to what instead the manager doesn't pay me fairly .

It's only a miracle how I get to work in the Crosswoods working industry . But I only hope that this work am in it doesn't pay me like the others  . My new boss has drop  me off am more than grateful even though she has a dirty attitude am still grateful because the few dollars I had in my wallet I could use it to help pay the mortgage.

As I open the door the first thing that I saw was my Dad on the couch in front of the TV with a beer in his hands . My mother was behind the kitchen counter looking after dinner as I guest . "Good evening Mom and Dad ."

"Good evening son ." said my mother . I wasn't looking for my Dad to say the same but even if he didn't say one word it's better than saying any . " Go freshen up son , dinner be ready in few ."
As mom said that I walk to my room to put away my things .....

Skip to dinner ...

I walk back to the kitchen to help mother with dinner but seeing my Dad on the couch not flinching makes me wonder if I would grow up like this man . Any how I only hope because only God one knows the agony I would be going through . I help Mom carry her plate to the table ... Hmmm dinner smells good .

"Kevin ... Kevin ..."

"What ."

"Dinner is ready ." as mother said that father only get up to walk to the dinner table sitting down in front of his dinner .

"And what is this ?" 

"Dinner ." my mother response about to eat and so do I .

"Does this looks like dinner to you ."

"Kevin ..."

"Don't Kevin me   , imagine you cooking spaghetti and meatballs for a grown man like me . Woman am a man that goes out evey day and not to come back to this house to have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner ."

"It's the only thing we coul ..."

"Look am tired of hearing that , you always say that , even last night and the night before and the night , night before ..."

"Dad that's enough ." I get up ." there is no need for you to talk to mom like that ... Do you knows how it feels to work ...huh... Look it's high time you stop behaving like that ... If you want your food you can eat , but if you don't just shut up and ... You know what good night mother am going to bed   you can put up my dinner for me ."

"Oh and where are you going Micheal ?"

"Are you deaf I said am going to my bed ... You can stay watch TV and drink your beers . " I reply to the arrogant man in front of me kissing my mother's cheeks and leaving them at the table to argue like always.

This is my so-called life like that I have live since I was in secondary school , my father wasn't like this but I figure he change but only God one knows what cause him like this .  I don't know what to do to ever make this  man happy but I only pray that whatever it is , it doesn't  tear our family apart.

Aaliyah POV

Michael ... Hmmmm .... He is cute but I shall try to get some information about him because that guy is way handsome ...

"Look who is here from work ."

"Mother you startled  me ." I said to my mother.

"Oh my bad , but look at Ms CEO coming from work , let me guest , the first day at work is hectic  , I wonder if you meet anyone."

"Hmmmm maybe ," as I said that I sit down on the couch with my mother standing over my head Talking .

"Maybe .... Let me guest ,,,, he is handsome ..."

"Mother ..!!! " throwing the pillow at her , my mother is laughing at me .

"Well be must be cute for you to throw the cushion pillow at me . "

"Whatever anyways am going to freshen up mom I'll be down for dinner ."

"Okay hon  ."

Skip to dinner .

"So Aaliyah how was work ?"

"It was great Dad just that I been preoccupied with some paperwork to collect the liability  . But other than that the business is still increasing liability and it get  less emphasis on loaning  liability , well as I could see that now the business stop issuing liability , I wonder if it's just now. "

"So apparently your first day at work isnt that bad . What about the managing director , how is he cooperating with you ."

"Father I don't need cooperating with him , in fact the only time I would ask questions is when need some one to explain things to me in which I don't need no one to . Also father am planning on having a meeting tomorrow  with all those who have been overdue their liability . "

"And that's what am talking about .*

A throat was clear around the table both our eyes was led on mom ," enough of the talking about business can you two just eat  without talk ."

"Darling ...."

"Daniel ."

"Ok fine . "

And with that we both of all four of us eat our dinner like one big happy family .
