As the weeks went by I'd became more irritable and uncomfortable. It looked like I was going to go my full term and Kyleigh was doing her best to make it horrible for me. I couldn't sleep unless there were a million pillows holding up every different part of me. Mood swings caused me to snap at Trey for everything only to apologize afterwards. My pregnancy had seemed so easy after I got through my first 2 months and now my last month was hell. I had finally gotten myself to sleep after trying for an hour and then I reached down and felt that the blanket was wet. I knew I didn't pee on myself. I sat up and Trey was still asleep. I turned on the light to make sure I wasn't just drooling or something, and when I lifted up the blanket and saw my nightgown I knew it was time. I calmly got up and changed clothes, called Keyanna, Anixa, and Ms. April to tell them that my water broke and we would be leaving for the hospital soon. I knew if I would have woken Trey up he and Marcus both would have been running around like chickens with their heads cut off and right now I needed calmness. I was putting on my sweats when I shook Trey.
"Huh? Why you dressed?"
"Trey my water broke."
His eyes popped open and he jumped out of the bed screaming for Marcus to get up and throwing on a sweat suit. It was kind of funny to see he and Marcus scrambling to get dressed.
"Okay I have the bag, the keys, I gotta call my momma."
"Already done can we go please?"
I said trying to hold back my laughter.
"You're awfully calm for someone who is about to go into labor."
"And I'd like to keep it that way."
Trey shook his head before I felt Marcus scoop me up and carry me out to the car. It seemed like we got there in seconds and I waddled my way inside before being forced into a wheelchair. Sitting in the room it wasn't long before Ms. April, Anixa, Brendan, Keyanna, Kenny and a sleeping Ayden were at my side. Marcus text Natalie updates every five seconds, she was so upset that she couldn't be with us for the delivery, that was our way of keeping the promise that she would be a part of it too.
"Hi Auntie."
I said smiling when Pamela walked in. She and Anixa exchanged a brief embrace before she spoke to the rest of the crew.
"Hey, everyone."
She said looking around.
"Okay I'm not trying to be rude, but all of you do not need to be in here she needs to concentrate on herself and the baby right now, so Daniela pick who stays and the rest go in the waiting room."
"Alright, Momma, Trey and Keyanna stay, sorry the rest of y'all gotta go."
They all sighed before hugging me and promising to be outside waiting.
"Now, let me check and see what's going on down here."
She said sticking pressing her fingers against my cervix.
