"Danni you dressed?""Yeah what's up?"
"There's a little bar around the corner you wanna sneak and have a drink?"
"Sure."
I grabbed my purse and Natalie and I snuck out of the townhouse and walked around the corner. Walking the streets in Miami was refreshing. Everything was so gorgeous and everyone seemed so carefree and happy. I was falling more and more in love with this place. We made it to the small bar and took a seat at a table along the sidewalk, it wasn't long before a waiter came to us. Natalie ordered a glass of wine and I had a daiquiri. We were sipping on our drinks when she spoke.
"Marcus is so happy that you guys came, you have no idea. He really misses you guys."
"We miss him too, I just love the way that he is with Kyleigh."
"Isn't he great. That's all he talks about is her, his desk at work is full of pictures, so many that people thought she was his daughter."
I chuckled.
"Aww."
"I know, but Danni the reason I asked you here is because, you know I love Marcus a lot. But lately it has been hectic for both of us and it's putting a strain on our relationship."
I sipped looking at Natalie, waiting for her to go into detail. She spoke about how Medical School kept her busy and if she wasn't in class she was at the library or at home with her head in a book. That she and Marcus hardly had time go out anymore and how he was seeming upset about her focusing on school. She explained that her being a doctor had been a dream since she was little and that she promised herself that no one or nothing would knock her off of her focus. She said meeting and falling in love with Marcus came out of nowhere and they thought it would work, they would support each other and he would be there through school when she needed comfort but lately it didn't seem that way. She didn't know what to do.
"You and Trey have been together for a while, I just was wondering if there's anything I could do?"
Listening to her story sounded a lot like mines and Trey's. He wanted to sing and I was focused on school. I wasn't being supportive as I should have been and it had put a wedge in between us that we were trying to remove now, but I couldn't help but to think what would happen when he made it.
