10: Everything Remembered

A/N I've decided to continue the book. Thank you all for your input on whether I should continue or not, which was a resounding yes. Thank you @flutterdash5121 for being there when I need oh and continuing to read this.

I may leave after I finish this story and a few that I'm reading when they're done being written. Thank you all so much for reading and liking what I write. I'll still write stories in my free time after this, but I'll actually try to have them published. Because I'll still have my account, I'll post on my message board if or when they're published.

I'm posting a chapter today because from tomorrow until the middle of November I'll be doing marching band. If you all live in the US, check out my band's show when competition's come around.

I'm in the Owasso High School marching band. This year, we're going to St. Louis and Indianapolis. We're in Oklahoma so if you live there, we're also going to the OBA competition, which is who knows where this year. It changes.

If you actually are somehow able to attend a competition, or are in a band going to one of those completions, look for me on the front of the stadium on the synthesizer (an electric keyboard) on the left side.

Sorry for the long author's note. I wanted to forewarn you all of my absence. I may actually be able to update every once in a while, but I'll be swamped with homework this year because I have 3 AP classes. Now, time to start writing the chapter.

Kazama walked home, reading Kamino's letters. An afflux of memories came to his mind as he slowly started to remember his past with her.

Including his feelings toward her.

He remembered something else. Something he should never tell Maki, but something that she should know. A promise made to Kamino.

He remembered the sullen look on Kamino's face as he left her. He now understood. He broke that promise made to her.

The promise to be with her when they met again. He said it to her in a letter.

Even before Kazama lost his memory, he broke it. It was the second, unknown memory as to why he was initially reluctant to go out with her. A reason that he forgot until recently.

Their first exchange of letters after they went to high school included her confessing to him, as Kazama saw while looking through them. He replied by promising to date her in the future. He broke it by dating Maki instead.

What should he do was a question to which he didn't know the answer. Better yet, there was no right answer to it.

In one hand, if he didn't tell Maki, she would eventually find out and would lose her trust in him. But if he did tell her, she'd be hurt, and knowing her, probably give him the option to go with Kamino.

Either way, she would find out, so as to cause the least amount of pain to Maki, he would tell her immediately. But what about Kamino?

He did love her then, but it wasn't the same now. His feelings for her have left him. He recalled feeling guilty when he dated Maki. He didn't want her to be sad even then when his feelings weren't strong.

He never wanted to hurt anyone. But he had hurt Kamino already.

Before he realized it, he was at the door to Maki's house. He used the key that her parents had made for him to get in. He was tackled by Maki with a big hug.
