[42] – Silence
Days came and
L e f
t.
Clocks ticked
As hours flew by.
Cities buzzed
And phones rang.
People chatted
And shoes clicked.
The bells above
The doors of the
Coffee shop and
Bookstore
Jingled as people
Came and
L e f
t.
Clouds drifted
And stars fell.
Ink spilled
And thoughts hidden.
Cabs honked
And children ran.
Hearts raced
And winds blew.
Birds sang
And storms raged.
Rain fell
And guitars strummed.
Nothing changed
But everything changed.
Yet as the world spun,
The boy and the girl
Stayed
Silent.
