My first friend

Olivia's POV

"I'm Lucas by the way" he said as we walked through the corridors heading to the next class I assume. "Olivia" I said. It felt like a really long and silent walk till next class..."this is the science lab/class. Bear with me till lunch and I'll get you around school soon enough" he said calmly. "Okay" I simply said and followed him into the classroom.

"Hello Mr fro,this is Olivia a transfer student and she's starting today" Lucas told the long black haired teacher. " hi there,nice to meet you. Please take a seat next to Lucas and he shall be your lab partner for this term" he said with a hoarse voice. "Nice to meet you too,sir and thank you" I said to him looking at the ground.

I hated being the "new kid in school". I never like having eye contact with people ; they'd always end up disgusted by my eyes. The lesson felt like an eternity and finally the bell rang and students were rushing out to go grab something to eat. "How about getting some lunch?" Lucas snapped me out of my thoughts "uhh I'm not hungry" I lied and suddenly my stomach decides to growl.

Who am I kidding. I am hungry. Lucas laughed and smiled at me and said "let's go to the cafeteria" and as soon as he said that I rejected it with a quick "no!" He stared at me in confusion"why not?the food isn't that bad you know" he said "come on. It'll be fine" he smiled at me.

I was still hesitant but who can refuse a smile like that.

Danger!look down!no eye contact remember!? I thought to myself and then we finally got to the cafeteria.

As we were in line to get our food lots of people came to say hi to Lucas. I guess he is actually popular but they kept on asking about me causing me to look at them and them looking away.

"Hhh" I sighed as the lady placed a cheese burger and some fries on my tray. "Why the long face?" Lucas said. "Nothing much just not used to this place yet" I said quietly. "Don't worry about it you'll get used to it in no time and besides you won't be alone I'll be with you" he said in a very gentle manner.

As soon as we grabbed our food,I was following Lucas to his table and it was filled with pretty girls and the basketball players. They all greeted him and suddenly looked at me.

Lucas was already sitting while I was still standing not knowing where I should sit. "Hey I'm Mike and this is Daniel and Jonathan" Mike said as he introduced himself and the other boys. And then one of the girls invited to sit next to them so I did and she said "hi,I'm Sarah and this is Maddison and niomy" Sarah said. I don't think that Maddison likes me ; she's giving dirty looks.

Lunch went by very awkwardly as I tried to answer as much questions they asked me such as where am from etc.

From the looks of it they had a glimpse of my eye when a random boy came and was pushed at me and they all suddenly went quite and stopped talking about me.

After lunch I was allowed to go home early ; I'm new and just transferred and still need to unpack. So,Lucas decided to walk me out to my car (BMW black) and then he asked me for my phone number so we can meet up in the mornings to show me around school.

I was pretty surprised; I don't have many friends or people asking for my number so I was secretly happy about it and we exchanged numbers and said our goodbye and made a promise to meet tomorrow morning in front of the school parking.
