I wake up to the sun rising. I look at my phone. 6:34. I fell asleep around 4:15 in the morning.Great only two hours of sleep. Better than none.
I go straight to the bathroom and relieve myself. I wash my hands and look up in the mirror. The bags under my eyes are very prominent. I splash my face with cold water to wake myself up. There was no way I was going to fall back asleep anyways. I went back to the living room and check my phone and saw that Anthony had texted me.
A-Where r u?!?!
R- Someone's house
A- Your parents called and they told my parents everything that happened. I feel so bad for u
R- I'm so glad that they're telling everyone now :(
A- Rach your parents r worried about u
R- THEY ARE NOT MY PARENTS!
I shut off my phone and threw it down on the couch. I wasn't mad at Anthony I was just mad at my pare-...... those people who raised me. Who lied to me for three years. I went through each moment that happened yesterday. The letter engraved in my mind. I shut my eyes so the tears wouldn't spill out. I let one fall. I heard someone walking down the stairs and I wiped the tears out of my eyes.
"Good morning." Mitch chirped.
"Morning." I reply with a small smile.
"Sleep well?" Mitch asked simply.
"Not really...... it wasn't the couch it's......just what happened yesterday ." I say looking down at the soft, white rug as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.
"Poor baby." Mitch said and went over to where I was and sat next to me.
He wraps his arm around me and pulled me closer, gently pushing my head down so it was resting on his shoulder. It wasn't the most comfortable position because I could feel his shoulder bone but I didn't want to move away. I needed that comfort.
"You'll get through it. Scott and I are here for you. You can stay here for as long as you want." He said ending with a soft chuckle.
I was thinking about saying that I could just stay with my friend, but Anthony's parents would call my "parents" to come get me. They are the last people I want to see right now.
"Thank you so much. I hope I'm not trouble or anything." Remebering Scott's and Mitch's conversation last night.
"Not at all. We love guests!" He said cheerfully."Come with me to the kitchen. I'll make you something for breakfast ."
He grabs my hand as he gets up from the couch. He guides me to the kitchen and starts making a grilled cheese sandwich. Mitch starts humming as he gets his ingredients. His voice sounds much more angelic in person. We chat a little bit while he is making it. I tell him that I'm a dancer and that I also do track at my high school.
Mitch hands me a plate containing my grilled cheese and he starts making another one. I hear someone else bound down the stairs. I glance at the direction of the sound to see Scott wearing only boxers. OMG! I thought. He came next to me and gave me a side hug before saying good morning. I try so hard not to stare at his six pack. My cheeks start burning.
"One for the big boy." Mitch says, turning around from the stove to give Scott his grilled cheese.
"Thank you. Did you start the coffee machine yet?" Scott asks.
"Can you give me a minute? Thank you." Mitch says with a sassy tone.
Scott and I both chuckle and Mitch turns around and gives us a look. Scott and I both glance at each other before continuing eating. I finish and realize I had to do something. But what was it?
What do I usually do after breakfast? I thought to myself.
Then it hit me. My meds. I immediately start panicking and my hands start shaking.
Oh shit......
