In one point at his ANBU carriere, Kakashi had extremely difficult mission. In fact, all of his companions have been killed and he was the only survivor but he suffered massive injuries, had to hide and was attempting to pull himself together.
Unfortunately, without success. He just became more and more tired from blood lose.
He couldn't run anymore and enemies were looking for him so he almost entirely gave up once again considering suicide, this time for the village.
Fortunately, he passed out before he could make up his mind. Last thing he heard were upcoming footsteps.
Later, he woke up in Konoha's hospital to find out that all hostile ninjas were dead and he has been carried to safety by unknown character wearing black cape with hoodie and a mask but this figure had Konoha's band so healers weren't questioning. That person was injured a little, seamed ruffle and tired but refused to take help and disappeared soon after. No guards saw them either enter or leave the village and nobody saw them again. Kakashi referred to them as „His Dark Guardian Angel" but never found out how true this statement was.
The same day Obito decided that he was definitely too soft.
