A/N
P.S: The title "Friend Or Foe" is inspired by Toy Story 3 movie lmao, when Buzz Lightyear said "Who goes there!? Friend or foe!?" ...I might be slightly off track, but you get my point.
*tries to reduce awkward silence*
Well, this chapter is nothing much after all that happened *cough cough* but it's a slow build up to what will happen next! <3
I hope you will enjoy this short length!

You, the person who made my past become a painful memory to remember
I, the person who made your present become a painful reality to endure
Him, the person who made us unable to be what we used to be
Her, the new girl with golden eyes and altered views of the world - me.

Margaret and Gwendoline took little to no time for getting me out of the ruined masterpiece that enraptured everyone's eyes. They proceeded to prepare a nice bubble bath - a treatment which I deserved after what we went through. A sigh of content escaped from my lips as I sunk deeper into the white foam. Bathed under the meek moonlight's glow, I looked out the window and saw a scorched area in the forest. It was easy to spot since patches of fallen trees ruined the evergreen view. Like a bald spot which began to form on the middle-aged man. Childish giggles erupted from me, breaking the tranquil silence in the room. Well, musical notes drifted from the floor below so I suppose it was not exactly silent, to begin with. I pressed a hand to my chest and felt the heart beating as if nothing happened. Fingers travelled across the bones that protruded ever so slightly just to confirm everything turned out to be fine.
The Asian man who broke his own heart did it for me.
I released another sigh, different from the earlier one, and dunk myself into the water. The thoughts that cornered me to a place of guilt and regret disappeared as my lungs began to lack oxygen. Bubbles appeared and travelled to the surface of the water as this half human body which belonged to me kept trying to inhale air. Yet I still tried to stay underwater with my eyes squeezed shut because I found comfort in punishing myself for the deeds I did to others. How can I be perfectly fine while others have to suffer? A tear left its place before dissolving into the saponaceous liquid.
"Never lose your humanity, filia." A voice that I had never heard for a very long time rang in my head, causing me to rise from the bathtub.
My eyes scanned the dim-lit surroundings even though I stood upright like a nudist. Chills ran down my spine whenever a breeze kissed parts of me. The droplets of water that trickled did not help, either. Nevertheless, I continued to examine the place - especially the corners which might hold some sort of revived High Elf. Seconds soon turned to minutes and I realised there was no Desmond, authentic version or a knock-off one.
The relaxing session had to end at this point.
After rinsing myself with clean water, I stepped out of the bathroom completely dressed. Margaret lowered her head as soon as she saw me, followed by Gwendoline. The mature one asked,"Would you like us to prepare supper before you sleep, princess?"
