”You don’t get to choose if you get hurt in this world…but you do have some say in who hurts you.”
My hair was sat up in a messy bun, I was wearing mascara and lipgloss, I was wearing a T-shirt with a leather jacket and shorts with leopard pattern. And with that I was wearing a couple of black high heels that I had borrowed from my mom. My mom loved it when I went to parties; as long as I did not come home drunk, high, pregnant or with completely destroyed clothes. She just really enjoyed me being social.
I was walking really slowly down the stairs, trying to get used to walking in those annoying high heels. The only reason why I did not take them off was because they looked pretty and they made me look taller. Not that I was short or anything - I just loved to be tall.
”Mom, I think my friend will be here soon. You can stand in the window and give his car stars from one to five!” I shouted to my mom who was in the living room probably watching a TV show about people killing each other and, funny enough, dying. She did not have time to respond before a special someone was knocking on the door. As I walked towards the door, I could hear her quickly get up from the couch and over to the window.
I opened the door and Heath, who apparatenly was my date, was standing there. He had not bringed flowers or chocolate or anything; he had just arrived with his or his dads car. ”Hi,” I greeted him. He nodded while smiling. ”I'm a bit late. Do you mind if we run over to the car?” he half-chuckled while taking a few steps backwards. ”No problem,” I said. ”No problem at all.”
His car was grey with a twist of white and inside the seats were made of pure black leather. He obviously had a radio so we could listen to some music while we, or well he, was driving. I always loved sitting on the front seat of a car. It was always so exciting and interesting.
”Oh, and Jess?” Heath suddenly blurted out. He was terrible at talking and driving at the same time.
”Yes?” I said.
”You look pretty,” he complimented me. I could see his lips turn into a smile and mine quickly turned into a big smile too. ”Thanks,” I responded, paying close attention to the road. There was a lot of car but it was friday night, so of course there was many cars.
We got out of the car and then we was standing in front of your friend Tanisha's house. It was so big. Not celebrity-rich-big but normal-family-big. They had this huge basement where she always threw her parties. We got in the house, walked down the stars to the basement and absolutely nobody was noticing us arriving to the party.
The music was loud, people were screaming, dancing and drinking at the same time and sometimes I could see a couple or a future couple kiss. ”It looks fun,” Heath stated. It sure did. We walked over to the table where there was alcohol, juice, food (mostly candy and french fries) and water. I took a purple cup, filled it with a mix of alcohol and juice and then I drank it.
”Fuck!” I screamed as the mix of alcohol and juice swimmed out of my mouth and down on the ground. I was happy it did not get on my clothes. ”It tastes like shit! Don't ever mix alcohol and juice, Heath! Never ever ever in your life do that!” I warned him while still screaming a little bit.
He was just laughing. Prick. He was laughing so much he had to put his own cup down on the table. Well, fuck you too!
”Do you think I need to get a towel or something?” I asked him confused and a bit nervous. I was too scared and nervous to go get a towel and get the mix away from the floor. Heath knew that situations that like made me nervous. He knew much about me.
”Nah. Just let it stay there. Tanisha's party, Tanisha's problem,” he said, still laughing. I guess he was right. I took a new cup and this time I drank water so I could get the terrible taste of alcohol and juice to disappear.
