Chapter 8 | This Plan Is Stupid

"He calls me the devil.
I make him wanna sin.
Every time I knock, he can't
help but let me in."

August, 1359

I have noticed a difference in my siblings. Our bond strains beneath the pressure of our life as vampires.
Each day removes them further from the humanity we once possessed. My sweet sister Rebecca has grown quite indifferent to brutality. However the true problem remains, my brother Niklaus.
He continues to hide his loneliness with cruelty, still I cling to the hope that I, as there eldest brother can lead them down the correct path, a path charges with a power of a family united. But if I fail, our family's legacy will end in darkness.

"Okay, he's cute and all, but if he hasn't yet figured, we all have our demons." Louisa groaned from her spot on the armchair, her body, somehow, gracefully slung across it.

"He is being poetic!" Hayley defended, pouting at Louisa for ruining her reading.

Louisa chuckled, seeing the comparison between Hayley and a sad puppy.

"Oh don't pout!" She teased. "It's unattractive," she added cheekily, sending a wink in Hayley's direction before standing up heading toward the ongoing voices of The Mikaelson siblings.

"I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me! You know how I love to set things on fire!" Rebekah complained, innocently, smiling at the witch who had just entered.

"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot, besides they were my responsibility. They attacked the helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my child." Klaus responded a smug smirk lacing his features.

"Aww, I am so moved by your new found sense of fatherly duty towards the werewolf carry your hybrid bun in her oven." The siblings bickered, and Louisa tried to contain her laughter, evident through the amused sparkle in her chocolate brown eyes.

Klaus chuckled at this, soon turning towards the said pregnant werewolf who spoke.

"The werewolf would like to know what the plan is!"

"Well, that depends what plan you mean, love." Niklaus said innocently, eyes lighting up.
"My plan for global domination or Rebekah's plan to find love in a cruel, cruel world." He added, sarcasm seeping through his voice and a smile gracing his features.

"Hmm." As the knife soared through the air it stopped mid way, freezing over before bursting in a flash of light.

"I may enjoy your bickering, but these carpets are too beautiful for there to be blood on them, I rather fancy them," Louisa stated, looking up at both the siblings like a mother warning her children, "so no bloodshed."

Klaus rolled his eyes dramatically and Rebekah responded with a 'sure, mom' huffing and crossing her arms over her chest.

"The plan to rescue Elijah. You know the good brother, the one who is now in the possession of your mortal enemy, after you stabbed him in the back!" She emphasised the last part leaning forward slightly, directing it at Niklaus.

"In the front of we're being specific." Klaus said cheekily, smirking whist gesturing with his hands.

"You two said you would get him back. Is there a plan or what?" She countered, dismissing Klaus' behaviour entirely.
