"I tried to ask you to your face but no words came out. I put on my hood and walked away- but that doesn't mean I don't like you." Nothing Came Out by The Moldy Peaches

Iwaizumi had left everything he had ever known to join the man standing in front of him. The man currently in a formal black suit, with a gleaming smile. He looked beautiful. He was amazingly skilled. As kind as the job let him be without ruining him. But he wasn't his.
Sugawara Koushi was not his.
Sugawara Koushi belonged to the girl that would soon walk down the isle and past the pews to him.
Once more, Iwaizumi said to himself, Sugawara Koushi wasn't his.
He smiled at his friend as he spoke excitedly and nervously. He then noticed that his tie was not done correctly and so he reached over and fixed it. Facing at his friend firmly and planting both his hands on his shoulders.
Sugawara took that as his friend trying to help him calm down and he muttered a small thanks to him, asking, "Do I look alright now?"
Iwaizumi laughed and shook his head at Sugawara. "Yes, yes you do."
Sugawara only smiled as they were told to ready themselves. It should be starting soon. Sugawara would officially be out of his reach in that sense. He sighed as he stood where the best man was told to stand and watched Nishinoya, Tanaka, and Asahi followed suit. Including Daichi, Sugawara's soon to be brother in law.
Time passed and soon the bride was making her way to a beaming Suga. And a rather dead inside Iwaizumi. But he smiled. He did it for him.
Some more time passed with words. Then it came down to the two important words. "I do." And maybe if he wasn't dead inside already, this surely would have killed him.
He painstakingly watched and forced himself to smile for his friend as the he kissed his bride. She was gorgeous, of course. She had the loveliest personality and Iwaizumi could see why Sugawara fell for her.
She was everything he was not. She was smooth, dainty, and she had all the curves in all the right places. He was rough on the edges, calloused, and muscular.
They separated and there was clapping and cheers. He did not feel like celebrating at all. But what could he possibly do? Sugawara had made him best man after all.
He sighed as he walked out of the church, lying and said that he had to take a call from his ill mother. His mother had been dead for three years but none of them knew that. And that was good. He pulled out a small carton of cigarettes and took one out, placing the box back in its previous position. He rolled the cancer stick between his fingers before deciding to place it in between his lips and pulled a lighter out.
Once on, he held it up to his cigarette only to drop the cigarette as he heard the sound of gun cocking. Letting out another sigh, he pretended to not be aware and bent over to pick the cigarette and spotted him. He grabbed the cigarette and counted to three before moving seven inches to the right. The bullet missing it's target.
"Damn it! We almost had him."
"You mean that I almost had him, Mattsun."
"Please, you wouldn't have almost had him if I hadn't suggested following him."
"Shut up."
Iwaizumi couldn't help but chuckle at his friends bickerings as they approached him. Yes, he was genuinely chuckling. The most genuine chuckle since he found out that his friend decided to make his girlfriend his wife. Though, it was forced some, he was not going to lie.
"Yo, Hajime, why did you come out?" Mattsun questioned.
"Why did you bring a gun to a wedding?" He retailited back.
Hanamaki laughed and spoke in place of Mattsun, "This is an assassin's wedding. Not just any assassin, too. A well known one. Like yourself. Plus, look in there, it's practically a gathering of some of our company's finest. Why not bring a gun. In short, just in case and for safety."
Iwaizumi had to agree. There were many talented and skilled people in there that could easily take life within seconds , celebrating the marriage and new life of one of their own.
"Hey, let's go back. I'm kind of hungry," Mattsun said, looking back at the doors. Hanamaki childishly rolled his eyes but led the way. Mattsun followed and Iwaizumi trailed after a few more seconds of lingering.
Time for more forced smiles and suffering.
At least there was food, drinks, and cake.

"I'm getting married." He said as they walked out of a job they both worked.
"Be my best man?" He asked as he, Iwaizumi, himself paused and stopped walking and maybe even breathing.
"It's raining," he pointed out, as he pulled on his hood and smiled back at Iwaizumi.
Iwaizumi cleared his throat and walked once more, pulling on his own hood and nodding his head in acknowledgment.
"Gladly." He said. But that's not what he wanted to say.
Not at all.
I like you, he thought.

He watched Sugawara smile as he danced with his wife that night. Merriment written all over his face.
I really fucking like you, he thought.
It hurts.
