CH14 Ana

“Arghhhh I am a big idiot!” I plop down into the bed and, as any good ostrich would, I cover my face with a pillow. Hiding, yes hiding is a good option about now.

As delectable as your derriere is,” Christian teases, “I would like to see your eyes at the moment.

I shake my head, there is no way I am admitting that ‘I have been crying and moping because I saw him holding hands with Mia, who happens to be his sister!’ pathetic much?

Christian lifts a corner of my pillow. “What are you a big idiot about?

See, I knew he heard me! Should I tell him? Maybe I can distract him I try to think of something – no, nothing, nada. I am drawing a blank, my story telling skills fail me at this crucial hour.

Ana?

I sit up straight against the backboard, pulling my sweater over my legs and intake a big gulp of air. “I was at the market yesterday” I mutter as fast as I can in one breath. I finish quickly, “saw you two. I was so sad and hurt and I thought you…” I slow down and look at my fingers as I draw my legs to my chest “you two were; you know…” I chance a look at Christian. He is resting on his elbows, looking at me, his forehead wrinkled in confusion. I look at his is eyes, his grey beautiful eyes; they capture me, soft, and warm. He looks at me as if I am telling him the answer to life, and the universe.

What are you thinking?” Christian’s brow deepens, and that makes him even more attractive. He is wearing a black t-shirt that clings to his muscles just right. His perfect chest raises and falls with his breathing; I want to wrap my legs around him. Focus, Ana, focus!

“Huumnn. What I am trying to say is that I saw you with Mia, yesterday.” He is looking at me intensely, his lips thin and his eyes small. “I was at the Farmer’s Market with my friends. I thought she was your next casual -” I let the words hang in the air. I am not sure what to say, ‘next lover, conquest, girl for the night.’

He is angry, the transformation is fascinating to watch, his face becomes stoic, his stare glacial and his hands close into a fist. If he were a cartoon, there would be steam coming out of his ears.

“I cried; it was stupid.” I try to explain as best as I can, my brain has gone on vacation and all my blood is running towards my nether regions. An angry Christian is kind of hot.

He finally breaks the silence; he is not clenching his fist anymore; actually he has done a one-hundred-and-eighty. “You saw me with Mia, and you were jealous.” He smirks; I think he is laughing at me but does not dare to show it.

Wow, he cuts it to the quick. “Yeah; that is a way of putting it.”

She is my sister.” There is a light tone to his voice now.

“I know that, now.” I say dismissively, rolling my eyes at him. I do not like him laughing at my stupidity. His eyes turn a deep color as if he is looking at a bright light. “Now, this morning;” I continue with a half-smile of my own. Lame, I know, but it is all I have.

The bastard continues laughing at me. “How come every time I see you, you are half way naked?”

“I was sleeping when you barged into the room!” I am self-conscious and try to cover my legs a bit more.

Do not hide from me.” His voice is deep and low. He is fucking sexy, his eyes have gone from grey to almost black as they roam my legs; on instinct I bite my lip and clench my core. He reaches slowly; I suppose to give me time to move away.  He starts caressing behind my knee, first only one finger then two and finally three fingers paint circles on my skin; it is a hypnotically slow rhythm.  Inhale, exhale, I need to breathe.
