"It was a different time, a different enemy. Sixty men, from Tier One teams, were sent to face down a force of five hundred enemy fighters. Their objective: to force the enemy back from a civilian hospital, and keep its occupants alive. For three days, they held their ground but the enemy's numbers were too great. The sixty were cut down to fifteen. They wouldn't last another night, and the enemy knew it. Under the cover of darkness, they evacuated the hospital, sending only one of their own to lead the way. The rest returned to the line, and took up positions beneath the bodies of their fallen brothers. As they lay in wait, the blood from the dead poured over them. The sand stuck to their skin like a shroud. Changing them. Anointing them. When the enemy drew near, the remaining fourteen rose out of the desert sand. They were like hunters that couldn't be seen, using stealth their enemies couldn't defend against. When the men ran dry of ammunition, they used their blades...and when the blades ran dull, they used their hands. When the dust and sand had settled, only one of the enemy has survived. He was picked up in the desert, wandering aimlessly, traumatized. He expressed warnings to others of a force so menacing and unbeatable, it could only be described as supernatural. He called them... 'Ghosts'."
"And this really happened?" Hesh asked his dad.
"So the legend goes." Elias said.
"Come on, dad. You don't honestly believe that story is true?" Hesh asked, not believing the story at all.
"Yeah. I do, and I'm sure (Y/N) and Logan believe me, right?" Elias asked You and Logan while getting up. You only shrugged your shoulders.
"You never really know if it's true or not, but I dig this kind of stuff. So, I believe it's true." You said. You always liked stuff like this and the story sounded believable. You looked over at Logan and smiled at him. You guys had been dating for over a year now and were practically inseparable.
"C'mon, let's head back to the house." Elias said, while heading to the trail from where they came from. You and Hesh stood up while Logan sat up.
"Let's go." Elias said. He looked over at Logan. "Shake a leg."
Hesh waved a hand indicating for Logan to get up. Logan stood up and held out a hand to You. You smiled at him and took his hand. You guys started walking up the trail hand-in-hand. Then you felt a tremor.
"Woah, little tremor there." Hesh said, looking back at you guys.
"Those things used to freak the hell out of your mother." Elias said to Logan and Hesh. You guys countined to walk up the trail. Another one came not even five seconds later.
"Another one?" Hesh asked.
"We'll get a couple more of 'em before everything settles down." Elias said. You guys countined walking up the trail.
"Wind's starting to pick up too." Hesh pointed out.
"I have a bad feeling that something big is gonna happen." You said aloud, taking in your surroundings. Suddenly another one hit, but it was bigger than the previous ones. It even made a tree roll down the hill it was perched on.
"Dad?" Hesh asked.
"Let's just get to the house. Make sure nothing got damaged." Elias said. You and Logan let go of each other's hands in order to jump across the tree. You guys started jogging back to the house.
When you guys got back up on the street, people were running on the streets, driving away in their cars. When you looked up you could see an explosion in the distance.
"Dad what's happening?!" Hesh asked his dad quickly.
"ODIN! It's ODIN!" Elias said.
'What the heck is ODIN?' You wondered.
"To the house, guys! Now!" Elias yelled. You guys started running to the house. A truck almost hit Elias, but swerved out of the way before it could hit him.
"Careful!" Hesh exclaimed.
"It's not an earthquake!" Elias yelled over the commotion.
"What are you talking about?!" Hesh asked his dad, sounding calm.
"You guys get to the house and stay there! I'm going for the truck!" Elias exclaimed.
"But dad!" Hesh started to protest.
"Just do it, son!" Elias said. Elias started to run in another direction in order to get to the truck.
"C'mon, (Y/N) and Logan!" Hesh exclaimed, while running up to the house. "What the hell is going on?!"
"That's what I've been wondering myself!" You said, loud enough for them both to hear.
"This way guys! Climb over!" Hesh exclaimed. Both You and Logan climbed over while Hesh ran to the door to open it. "It's not safe out here!"
Hesh opened the door, urging you to run faster.
"Get inside!" Hesh yelled. When You and Logan reached the door, Hesh pulled you inside and shut the door quickly.
"What the hell was dad talking about?! What's ODIN?!" Hesh asked you guys.
"How about we answer those questions another time and get the hell outta here, cause this place ain't gonna hold." You stated. Hesh nodded and burst through another set of doors.
"Come on!" Hesh said. A really big tremor hit almost caused you to fall, but you managed to keep you balance. The house was falling apart and if another tremor like that was going to hit, the whole house was going to collapse on you. "This place isn't going to take much more of that."
"We're not gonna die here! Come on! Hesh exclaimed. Hesh ran to the front door to get it open, but it wouldn't open." It's jammed! Help me out!"
Logan went to help his brother out while you just stood there because you couldn't really help that much.
"Okay! Three, two, one, push!" Hesh yelled. They opened the door in one push. Hesh jumped out and onto the ground. You and Logan quickly went up to him. You seen a white streak fall to the Earth and cause an explosion that made the street crumble up and start to fall down. "Come on!"
*************TIME-SKIP (cause I am lazy)**************
"Look out!" Hesh yelled, ducking down from an explosion. You also ducked down, but Logan wasn't lucky. The explosion caused Logan to fly a few feet back.
"Logan?!" Both You and Hesh yelled out. Logan opened his eyes to see You and Hesh looking at him. You grab onto his hand and gave a squeeze.
"Hesh?! Logan?! (Y/N)?! You alright?!" Elias yelled out.
"Dad?! We're okay!" Hesh replied to his father. You glared over at Hesh because Logan wasn't 'okay'.
"Get in the truck, guys!" Elias yelled out. Hesh put Logan's arm around his shoulder while you did the same to his other.
"Get him in the truck! Get him in now!" Elias exclaimed, running up to you guys. You moved out of the way so Elias can take your spot. "We got to get out of here!"
"You're gonna be alright, son." Elias said. You ran over to the bed of the truck so you could help Logan up and on it. Once you got him on the bed, Hesh quickly joined you guys while Elias drove you guys out of here.
You and Logan looked to the side and seen more explosions. Logan turned his head to look at you. You looked back at him and gave a small smile, despite the situation. Logan pressed yours and his lips together in a sweet kiss.
Hesh looked towards you guys and smiled. Hesh couldn't have asked for a better girlfriend for Logan. You were perfect for Logan and Hesh has always thought of you as his little sister. Hesh couldn't help but think that you will become his sister, one day.
