No one's point of view (so it's third person)

As Karen had welcomed in her guests, she noticed the way Louis and Liam were looking at eachother. Both her and Jay knew that the boys used to be best mates. That's why she was so intrigued to invite the Tomlinsons over for a meal.

Jay still knew the feelings her son had for the older boy, but never properly thought about how she was gonna get her son to meet him again. But as soon as she got offered an promotion, she couldn't say no. That was because she knew that not only would her and her 2 children would be living a better life, but would be bringing happiness to her youngest child.

Louis looked down to his shoes the moment he noticed the older boy, but Liam just couldn't help but keep on looking at the younger boy. He had then realised why Louis had been acting the way he has in school.

Liam had felt so bad about forgetting the name of his best friend. He felt so guilty, but it is easy to forget someone when you haven't seen them for 5 whole years.

However, Ruth and Lottie was already making conversation and had ended up heading up to Ruth's room. If Louis remembers correctly, he had heard his sister mention a 'Ruth' to him on the car journey to the house.

Jay and Karen had gone to the kitchen and left Louis and Liam to their own devices.

They both stood there in complete silence. Both of them not wanting to ruin the moment.

Louis kept his eyes to his shoes because he knew that if he looked up,he would be tempted to just run up to the older boy and kiss him. But, the thoughts came back to what happened today. Yes, he knew that Liam had stuck up for him today, but he didn't know why.

Liam however, just kept his gaze up to Louis. When he was younger, he had only thought of Louis to be his friend. But now, he just seemed to notice the way the younger boy was. About how different he was. Not the confident and loud boy he used to be, but the shy and anxious boy he had become. He started to believe that he was the reason why Louis was the way he was and now why he's changed.

The moments of silence was cut short when Karen had come out to the hallway. Where they had been standing for the past half an hour apparently. "Boys, dinners ready. Liam can you go and tell the girls please" and with that, Louis went and sat up to the dinner table next to his mum and moments later, was joined by Liam and the two girls.

Liam sat opposite Louis, whereas Lottie Sat in between Liam and his mum, Ruth in between me and her mum.

During the meal, Liam took any chance he got to look up at the younger boy whose eyes seemed like they were peeled to the plate. Louis ate his meal in silence where as the rest of them was all talking.

"So, Louis, what subjects do you specialise in?" Asked Karen. 'Shit' Louis thought. He didn't want to speak, but then again, he knew he had to.

Liam on the other hand, felt so guilty. This was because he hadn't once asked of the younger boys name as everyone had expected him to remember it just like that really.

"W-well, I-I um" Louis began. This was when Jay quickly spoke for him "Louis doesn't exactly like to talk" and with that, Louis sighed in relief. At least he had his mum there. "Thanks mum" Louis whispered over to her. She quickly smiled at him.

The rest of the meal continued with everyone talking, except for Louis of course. This was when Liam kinda started to feel worried. Probably because he wasn't used to this Louis.

When it was all over, Karen and Jay went to the living room because Lottie and Ruth had offered to help with the cleaning up and dishes.

Karen had suggested that Liam was to show Louis his bedroom, and that was exactly what he done. With no hesitation what so ever.

Louis, however, didnt want to, but when he made his way up the stairs after Liam, he felt really excited and nervous at the same time. He felt a blush come to his face when Liam kindly held the door open for him.

-flash back-

Liam walked into the little play area, a little nervous as it was the first time anyone was meeting eachother. He sat down on the floor and started to play with a fire engine.

Not long after, another little boy with the name of Louis came and sat next to him.

"Hi, I'm called Louis. Would you be my best friend" that was the first ever sentence exchanged by the boys and they knew it would start a lovely friendship.

-end of flash back-

Liam remembered those exact words, but wanted to say it in his own little way.

He let Louis sit on his bed. The younger boy looked around the room and taken in every single detail, including everything he had on his walls, the comic book collection he still had and more.

Liam smiled as he watched him. When he noticed Louis had quickly looked up at him, he quickly looked away. But it was then when the older boy had decided to start up some conversation between the both of them.

"Hi, I'm called Liam. Would you be my best friend?" He asked. And with that, Louis looked up at him and smiled widely and the older boy had noticed him starting to blush. Liam had just remembered how much he loved to see Louis smile. "I take that as a yes then" asked Liam, and then Louis nodded.

Liam thought that the younger boy must either just be really nervous, or be selectively mute. But whichever one, he knew he'd love him anyway he was. Any shape or form.

"A-actually" the younger boy started.
