Chapter 5

Liam P.O.V

"A-actually" he started saying. Hopefully he hasn't changed his mind. I really want to be best mates with him. Maybe more. But I'm not sure that he would think of me like that.

"Go on Lou. You can tell me" I said. As soon as I spoke, he just seemed to go all quiet and everything. Well, used to it at the moment.

I went over to him and sat down next to him "I mean it Lou. You really can" but when I looked at him, I noticed that he was shaking a little. And I don't know why or how. I hadn't done anything wrong. Well, at least I know I haven't.

I put my arm around him and noticed that he was cold. And not long after had started coughing a little.

"Mum" I shouted. And got no reply. "Jay" I shouted too. Still no reply. I quickly thought and shouted for Ruth. But she didn't answer but it was when I shouted for Lottie, someone came in.

Lottie P.O.V

So mum and Karen had gone out for this work thing. Leaving me and Ruth in charge of the boys.

To start off with every thing was fine. But then I heard Liam shouting for his mum and my mum. And then Ruth.

I stood up "don't worry about them. It's probably Liam pulling another prank" Ruth had told me.

"But he's got my little brother in there" I said, sounding really concerned. I really should go and check on them.

"So, it could be the both of them doing it together" she said.

I shook my head "Louis isn't the type of person to do that. Yes he used to be that person, but now he isn't. He's changed alot Ruth." I told her.

"Then why are you so concerned?" She asked. Mum said that I wasn't allowed to tell anyone else, but Ruth isn't just anyone.

"You have to promise me that you won't tell anyone what I'm going to tell you. Even Louis doesn't know this" I said in a whisper. Looking around to see if anyone else was around. But there wasn't. She held out her pinkie as in a pinkie promise. And with that, I know she won't go behind my back and say anything to other people.

"Ok. When Louis was born, the doctors had noticed something wasn't right with him and had to do surgery on him. When it was all over, they said that he would live his life as a normal child, but would have sudden changes when he gets older." I said.

"So, what's happening now then" she asked.

"Let me finish. Mum got told that he has a 5% chance of making his 16th birthday. At the moment it seemed like everything was fine, but then a few weeks ago, everything started to change for him. And basically he doesn't know about it." I resumed what I said and she just looked at me in shock.

"LOTTIE" I heard Liam shout for me, so both me and Ruth had quickly ran out and into Liams room.

I noticed Liam there holding Louis tightly. My younger brother was coughing and shaking and just looked unwell.

"Ruth, can you drive us back to our house please" I said.
"Why not the hospital" both of then asked at the same time
"Because I know what I'm doing" I said.

And with that, Ruth grabbed her keys and ran out to her car, starting it up. Liam picked up my little brother and carried him out to the car, sitting in the backseat. Me going in next to Ruth.

When we finally made it to my house, we taken Louis inside and sat him on one of the sofas. I grabbed the box that we got given for him by the doctors. "You two might wanna leave" I said to them. "But Ruth, call my mum. Please" and with that, I gave Ruth my mobile and she left the room, taking Liam with her.
