Chapter 11

Derricks’ POV

I couldn’t take it anymore! My wolf and I were literally going crazy! We needed to find Zandra, we could sense that she was in trouble. Besides the fact that I couldn’t take away the feeling that the man that was hurting her was someone I knew, I can’t quite put my finger in what made me him so familiar.

Samantha suddenly stopped running and sniffed the air, I did the same but I couldn’t pick anything up, witch only added to my stressed out mind.

“We’re getting closer, I smell a faint trace of blood” she said, the last part almost inaudible. That was all it took, the last straw, I could feel the bloodlust coming through me and my wolf fighting to take over, all I wanted to do was kill the man who had the audacity to even lay a finger on my mate, he had no idea who he was messing with, I wanted to rip his head off, feel his blood on my mouth, his last breath because of my own doing.

“take control of yourself, when we find her she’s going to need you to be rational and we need you to be reasonable in order for you to take care of her while we deal with whoever did this” Damian said, I knew he was right but my wolf wasn’t having any of that, he wanted to find her and the head of whoever hurt her, it took me about 10 to 15 minutes to gather myself up. When I opened my eyes my mate’s brothers were there, Frank stepped by my side and said “let’s get my sister back, your mate back” that was all that needed to be said for us to sprint through the dark forest, passing trees like a blur, smelling the moisture and dirt, only the moon guiding us and our wolves on high alert.

Soon enough we came across a small abandoned cabin, if you could call it a cabin, it was obvious that it once was a beautiful house, a kind of place you would go to escape yourself from everything every once in a while. The door and window frames were once a nice white color, now you could see the old, dusty and wrecked wood in them, the wooden fence surrounding the front porch is literally falling, the dead plants were a sign of a once upon a time garden, ripped and old curtains were seen from the inside and some holes were visible on the roof already.

“We’re going to check if there’s any other threat to be considered, Samantha do you smell any other scent in particular?” Damian said.

“no, I only smell Zandra’s, is very faint I suppose it’s because of the pill she was given, so if anyone else is close, they have either taken another pill or he already left”

That was all my wolf needed to hear and that was enough of waiting around, we needed to see her and get her out of her, we couldn’t just stay there with her so close to us knowing she was hurt. The moment I threw that door down it took me only a minute to realize there was no one else there, the bastard left, a low menacing growl came from my wolf, he wasn’t happy that the asshole got away and I didn’t either, but I forgot all of that as soon as my eyes landed on her.

My heart just stopped at the sight of her, she was hanging from the fucking roof! With her hands cuffed and her hair was a mess sticking to her face in different directions because of the drying blood, her whole clothes were ripped and you could see the bruises near her ribs and stomach, her left eye and bottom lip were swollen, she was breathing weakly so that meant she was just unconscious, I shifted back to my human clothes and I was next to her in seconds, I tried breaking the cuffs but they burned my hands so that meant they were silver, she had to have her wrists burned for that matter and it also explained why her wolf didn’t come out to help her and why she was taking so long to heal and gain her strength back. But I didn’t care; those handcuffs were not going to keep me waiting until the other found the damn key, for all I knew the asshole took it with him.
