Miriam’s POV

I was laying on a king sized bed looking at the celling; Logan had made me move to a new room since my “meeting” with Cassandra ended up to a complete disaster. I can’t believe what she has turned herself into, gone was the girl and woman I once knew as smart, kind, funny, caring and my best friend and was now replaced with hatred, coldness and kinda of psycho also. I also couldn’t stop thinking about William and our daughter. What will she be doing? Did she hate me for keeping her away from all of this for so long? Did she blame me for our current situation? I sure as hell did. If only I would’ve told her sooner, if I only been more cautious with everything. This wouldn’t be happening if Logan wouldn’t have had killed William, I knew he would have kept us safe and Sammy and I wouldn’t have been thrown out of the pack.

What will he think now? Would he be blaming that our daughter is in danger? That I got myself in this position and knowing Samantha she wasn’t going to give up until she found me and end all of this. I didn’t even give him a proper goodbye because Robert, his beta and the other pack members couldn’t find his body. They assumed he was dead because they couldn’t feel, smell or hear his presence neither in wolf or human form. I was devastated when they came through that door with sadness and regretful eyes. After that all the hunting and hiding began. God I missed him so much!

I was deep in thoughts until I heard my door slowly cracking, a whisper came through, “are you awake?” I couldn’t recognize the voice or the scent. Vampires don’t have strong scents as werewolves but they did have soft scent, this one though I didn’t recognize it. It smelled a little like rain and I’m sure I didn’t smell it coming here. “Yes, I’m awake, you can come in” I said, what more could they do to me? I was already trapped and kept away from my daughter and forever to be apart from my mate, so what did I have to lose?

A man came in, he was tall and slightly muscular, his face was cold and expressionless, yet his eyes showed concern and regret. His hair was light brown and his eyes were a light grey that reminded me of Cassandra in a way. He looked tired and you could see life had and was quite rough in this guy, but the again under Logan’s command who wouldn’t?

He closed the door behind me carefully and walked and stood in front of the bed, “can I sit down” he asked and my response was just a nod. I don’t know why but I felt the need to trust this man, even considering he’s the only one that has been polite to me since I got here, there was another thing that was telling me to trust him, a thing I just couldn’t put my finger on it. I just watched him carefully while we sat there in an awkward silence for a few minutes before he finally spoke.

“I’m here to help you Miriam, but you need to listen to me very good and promise me you’ll be understanding enough to let me explain and no freacking out, for obvious reasons no one can know about me being here.” I nodded again just watching him carefully after all this could be some trick from Logan or even Cassandra. He sighed and started speaking.

“I’m so sorry you had to go through everything Logan has put you through, you must believe me when I say that I tried my best to keep him out of your life as much as I could without given him any suspicions. I didn’t think the fight with him and… William was going to end like that, I was almost certain Logan was falling for Cassandra until the news of your whereabouts were delivered, he went crazy and went to get you without even blinking with Cassandra’s hurt on her face. When I arrived there from other clan meetings all I found was a blood bath in front of my eyes, I just took Logan by the shoulder and pulled him away telling him we didn’t have any more left men there and we would be out numbered every time soon, I just wanted him get as far away from you as possible”
