Heya folks. It's meeee. So, for the sake of starting over I have changed the plot of the story so it won't be boring for old readers. This is an improved version after all and it would be a shame if it was too predictable. I have nothing more to say than read on and hopefully enjoy. Also please leave a comment of what you thought of this rewriting and/or if you think there's something I can improve on. Thank you all for staying patient.))

The window fogged from Lapis' hot breath. She drew a small stick figure before the fog slowly disappeared, her eyes darting back to the road in front of her. She sighed. Not only was she bored, but she was scared as well. She was insecure, socially awkward and filled with anxiety and depression, and now she was going to start at a new school, away from everything she knew. She glanced at her mother who was sitting next to her, driving the thing.

"Mom..?" She quietly mumbled. Her mother nodded in her direction, telling her to continue. "I... I'm sorry..."

"Lapis, there's nothing to apologize for. It's not your fault, it has never been. We both know it was an accident. Look, I'm sure that you will make some good friends no matter what, and you don't have to show them if it makes you uncomfortable. You're a great person and they'll see that, don't you worry," Lapis' mother said reassuring. Lapis nodded as a response, not believing her mother but not wanting to discuss it either. An accident. It had all been an accident. "I love you dearly Lapis, you know that right?"

"Yes mother. I love you too." Lapis answered blankly. Her mother sat full focus on the road again, everything growing silent.

"Lapissssssss~"

"No..."

"Lapis~"

"No..."

"Lapis."

"... No."

"Lapis dear, sweetie, darling, zip it. We haven't done our daily routine yet."

"Why is feeling like trash a daily routine all of a sudden?"

"Very funny, very funny. Look, I'm kind of disappointed in you. I thought we made progress?"

"Wouldn't exactly call feeling worse, progress. At all."

"Oh so we have made progress. Nice dear. So, how are you?"

"Why do you care?"

"How. Are. You."

"Fine I guess? Despite everything I'm doing okay at the moment."

"Oh no dear, we can't have that. Are you sure you're fine? Like, really sure? That you're okay? Right now? You aren't sad? At all?"

"Well... Now that you mention it... Maybe I am a little down?"

"Good news, good news. Do you have any idea how to make it worse?"

"But I don't want to make it worse? Look, can't you leave me alone, just for today? I beg you, honestly, I would do anything to make a good first impression without you in the way. You can be here everyday but today. Please, leave me alone."

"Hmm. Well, you are begging. And it would be easier to ruin your reputation if you made a good first impression. I'll leave you for now but don't be surprised if I'll come back later."

"Thank you. Thank you so mu-"

"Lapis, are you listening?" Lapis' mother said while one of her hands was shaking Lapis, snapping her out of thought.

"Hm- What?" Lapis asked.

"We're there in five minutes, okay?"

"Okay."

The car pulled up to a huge school. Lapis stares at it in awe.

"This is where I'm staying? It's huge! I'm getting lost just by looking at it, how am I gonna survive that?"

"Well Lazuli-"

"Shut. Up. We have a deal. Leave."

"But Lazuli-"

"We. Had. A. Deal."

"Fine! Bitter bitch."

Lapis rolled her eyes, following her mother out of the car.

"It's beautiful isn't it?" Her mother asked, glancing around the landscape. Pink trees were scattered around the grass surrounding the school (except for the front). It was, indeed, beautiful. Lapis nodded in agreement, taking it all in.

"Now, you'll have all the time to explore today once we get you signed in," her mother took her hand and looked down at her. "Are you ready?" Lapis hesitated, but nodded again. Together, they walked into the school.

The halls were mostly empty all the way to the principles office, except a few student leaving to go to the bathroom. Lapis felt her anxiety grow more and more, the closer they got to the office. She wasn't ready, yet she has never been more ready for this than now.

"Are you okay honey?" Lapis' mother asked, Lapis once again only answering with a simple nod.

"My sweater hurts..." She mumbled. Her mother sighed.

"I know darling... Let's just," she hesitated. "Let's just get this over with. I'm sure you'll be happy here."

"If... If you say so..."

"Scared already?! Wimp!"

"We had a deal."

"Loser! Good for nothing! Trash! Are you even listening?!"

"Shut up, shut up, shut up-"

"Lapis dear, what's wrong?" Lapis took a snapped step back.

"Wha- nothing, nothing. I'm fine. Let's go."
