Chapter 1

TASSIA'S POV

"Lauren will be cray." I shout.

"Yeah," Melody said "she will KILL EVERYBODY! She what I did there? Skrillex mention." Exclaimed Melody, while nudging me painfully in the ribs, while we walked down the noisy school corridor.

"Hilarious!" I said sarcastically.

Melody gave me a glare but couldn't keep the smile off her face, and bursted out in laughter at her own joke. I burst out laughing as well and everyone stared at us like we had grown two heads. I started to blush sheepishly when I saw every one in the school corridor was watching us. I could smell something delicious in the air, it smelt like rain and freshly baked cookies. I looked around the hallway, trying to find the source of this amazing smell and thats when my eyes met the most amazing brown eyes I had ever seen, I took a step back and realised who it was. Landon Lawson. Landon the school player, the quarterback, the most popular guy, one of my friends, is my mate. He started to walk over to me and stopped next to my locker.

"Hey Landon," I said, trying to act natural, but completely failing.

"Hey Tass, I haven't seen you for awhile, not since I left for Europe, two weeks ago. It's nice to see you, kitten," he said, giving me a wink. I shuddered and gave him a small smile.

"What do you need, Landon?" I asked, and he just shrugged.

"Well you are my mate and I just wanted to know if you want to go to the party at Kyle's, with me tomorrow night?"

"Um, I'm sure I can go," Melody and I had already got dresses....such loners.

"Great, I'll meet you there." he gave me a kiss on the cheek and turned around and went back to his friends.

LANDON'S POV

I finally found my mate! And she's so beautiful, I can't believe I haven't noticed her before, but I would never hurt her. She is truly the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. When I caught up with my friends, I decided to tell them that I found my mate.

"Hey guys, I found my mate,"

"Who is it?!" they yelled, I laughed and then replied, "Tassia Burke, you know Beckham and Melody's best friend?"

"Oh, THAT chick, the nerdy one? Oh my god! Sucks to be you!" How dare they say that about my beautiful mate!? She is absolutely gorgeous. But I can't let them know that I think that, so I just said

"Yeah, I know. I can't believe I ended up with that loser. She can't be my mate, I am to popular to be seen with her," and they all laughed.

'HOW DARE YOU SAY THAT ABOUT OUR MATE?!' My wolf, yelled at me.

'I didn't mean it, I promise. I just need them to get used to having her as my mate,' I replied. And with that he left me. When I turned around I saw a flash of brown hair and then it was gone. That was strange.

TASSIA'S POV

I was walking down the corridor when his scent hit me. Vanilla and cookies.
I stop when I heard his voice.

"Yeah, I know. I can't believe I ended up with that loser. She can't be my mate, I'm to popular to be seen with her." I watched as all his friends laughed, I couldn't see Landon face but I just knew he was smirking. My wolf howled inside of me. How could he do this, one minute he was asking me to the party and next he was saying how pathetic I was. I could literally feel my heart breaking in two. Tears were ready to fall but I kept them in, I wasn't going to cry in front of him. Stuff him, who needs a complete arse in your life! I walked straight passed him to my next class.

BECKHAM POV

"Lauren has been pissing me off lately. We don't even talk any more and she is always flirting with all the other boys in our year." I Confessed, while sitting down at the lunch table with Landon.

"Why don't you just break up with her?" Landon asked. I knew he was right, but I just couldn't hurt her.

"But what if she's my mate?" I asked.

"Bro, I pretty sure you would know by now." he stated. Landon started shifting in his seat at the lunch table. "Um.. I'm gonna go see if I can find Tassia. I'll talk later" he said hitting my shoulder with his palm and walking away. Woah, he diffidently likes her, he never cared for girls like that, they normally came to him not the other away round.

"See ya later" I stood up leaving my lunch on the table and went to find Lauren. I am going to break it off with her.

I got up when Melody started walking beside me. "Hey, I got you a chocolate ice cream. They were giving them out for free." Melody told me.

"Thanks, chocolates my fav"

"Where are you off to?" Melody asked.

"Breaking up with Lauren" I said, there was a hint of sadness in my voice, but it was the right thing to do.

"Really? , good for you. She is being a complete arse" she said as she smiled faintly.

"Yeah, she is a bitch and talks about everyone and doesn't even talk to me."

"Yeah, we'll good luck. I'm gonna go find Tassia." She said happily.

"Don't bother, she is with her mate." I couldn't help but sigh when I said mate. I can't wait till I find mine.

"Okay we'll I guess I'll be a loner." Melody said as she walked away

"Oh, you can sit with my friends till I get back." I offered. She looked a bit nervous but ended up agreeing and walking over to our table. I went to go find Lauren.

MELODY'S POV

As I walked over to the guys table they made a space for me in between Kyle and Jordan. They were all part of Landon's pack.

"Nothing much, Tassia found out Landon is her mate today and now I'm alone." I said sadly.

"Your not all alone, you still have us. " Kyle said as he nudged me with a smirk on his face

"Hahaha. But I only want my mate." Melody said in a whisper

Kyle shrugged " You better eat that ice-cream, or it'll melt. I'm just to hot!" I rolled my eyes at him and we all laughed.

"Have it " I said and handed him the ice cream.
