Prologue

Fate has a funny way of doing things, doesn't it?

One moment, everything is perfect. You wake up for work on time, you finally get that promotion you've been waiting over two and a half months for, and you can finally afford to get that car you've been dreaming of. Alas, all good things must end at some point. You wake up three hours late, you're boss is in a horrible mood and you being late makes him demote you two ranks below your previous rank, and your beloved, brand new car gets backed into by a reckless driver and is completely totaled. The new guy also happened to spill some very hot coffee all over your brand new attire.
