Chapter 9
Finns pov :
Rachel , Anna, and I were in the park watching Annie play when I looked at Rachel and said,

"Can I tell you something?" I asked her.

"Of course, whats up?" She asked me .

"So I was thinking about proposing to Jill this week , what do you think?" I asked her.

She looked at me wide eyed and said,

"Wow, I think thats... great congratulations." She said and gave me a hug .

"Thanks do you think she'll say yes?" I asked her.

"Of course I do. I mean you two have been together for 4 years now it's about time." She said.

"Yeah, I just look at her with Annie and I know she's the one." I said.

"I'm really happy for you Finn, Jills a great girl and Annie really does love her." She said.

"I know. I just never been this nervous about anything." I said.

"Don't be she be crazy not to say yes." She told me.

"Thanks Rach." I said and gave her a hug.

I pulled away and just as I thought she was going to say something Annie said,

"Mommy , Daddy, come play with me." Annie yelled .

We smiled at her and walked over and started to play with her.

Rachels pov:
Later that night everyone was asleep and Finn was staying at his moms and Sam and Annie were asleep upstairs. I sat in the kitchen drinking a cup of tea when my dad came down.

"Hey honey." He said.

"Hey dad." I said.

"Everyone asleep?" He asked me.

"Yeah." I said.

"Whats wrong?" He asked me.

"Nothing ." I said lying.

"Rachel Barbra Shuester, you're my daughter I know you and I know when something is wrong so spill." He said.

"It's Finn, he's going to propose to Jill." I told him.

"Let me guess you don't like her." He said.

"No, thats the thing Jills perfect for him but I just.... I always thought him and I would end up together you know. " I said.

"Oh so do you have feelings for him?" He asked me.

"No I can't I have Sam and he's perfect , he's stable and he's great to Annie and to me. He's been there for me since I brought Annie home." I told him.

"So then whats the problem?" He asked me.

"The problem is, what if Finn and I are meant to be. What if I'm supposed to be with him all along? What if I make a mistake and it ruins everything?" I asked him .

He nodded and held my hand and said,

"You know one thing I learned from your mother and then finding Emma is that you are going to make mistakes in life but if you're lucky you'll find someone or in my case two people who will help you. You loved Finn , Rachel for 5 years hell you had his baby it's okay to feel some type of way about him . It's okay to find it hard to let him go. Then again you have Sam who is a good man and loves you and Annie. The question is what does your heart say?" He asked me.

"It says I'm marrying Sam but I care for Finn too." I said.

"Thats okay. Look the way I see it is if you make a mistake thats okay. We all do it but just don't forget to listen to your heart before you make any decisions." He said.

"Thanks dad." I said .

"You're welcome ." He said and went up stairs.

I sighed and finished drinking my tea and then went up stairs. I walked into Annies room and smiled as she slept soundly. I came over to her , sat down in the old rocking chair and just watched her sleep.
