Chapter 12 dead or alive?

Mathew sat on the couch, he didn't know what to do or how to speak, he was speechless, was Liz dead? Was she alive?

"Matt, she will be ok." Salene said, her entire body was numb and she tried to keep her voice calm and collected, but she to didn't know if her best friend was dead or alive.

"I hope your right." Matt said, his head still staring at the carpet, Kyla came into the living room with cocoa and gave one cup to Salene and then to Matt, they took the cups and took a drink, Matt's hands shaking, he couldn't believe that he might loose the girl he's always loved since, well, first grade!

"I really hope she's ok." Kyla said and put her cup of cocoa and looking up at the two siblings.

"Yeah, first mom and Liz's mom and now Liz, who is this guy?" Matt asked looking at Salene and she looked at Kyla who grabbed a news paper and read it.

"Guys, I think i know who he is.." Kyla said while Salene and Matt walked over to Kyla's side and looked at the front cover, it had shown a face of a girl and three other girls and two guys sat on the front with the girl, she looked really pretty.

"Her name is Kathryn." Kyla said and Salene read the other names in her mind, the one girl was young, maybe about her age and her name was Jacklyn, although her friends called her Jackie and two other women that were probably the girls mothers one was named Carol and the other was Gabby, the two were named Roy and Brad, they were both the same age and Roy was Jackie's brother while Brad was Kathryn's brother and Jackie's boyfriend, and they were all dead..

"Do you think Scott did this?" Kyla asked and Salene couldn't talk.. she was speechless like her brother.

Of course Scott would do that, they recognized his picture on the third page, even though he had changed his look they still knew that he was still the same Scott they knew, Salene closed her eyes.

"Why did he do this?" Salene asked and Matt walked over to another couch and sat down, he put his head in his hands and thought, he seriously wanted Liz to be ok.

"We need to go find Liz." Matt said, Salene and Kyla looked up at him with wide eyes.

"But-but, Scott's out there, he could kill us!" Kyla said, she didn't know much about that Scott had killed her friends but she did know that she had to help and going no where they wern't gonna save anyone.

"Then, we just gotta take a chance." Matt said grabbing his jacket and sliding it on, he was scared inside but he swallowed it and didn't show it, he loved Liz and he wasn't gonna sit around and be told that she was dead.

"Fine, we'er coming to." Salene said grabbing her jacket and Kyla just sat on the couch confused, should she stay home safe or help them find Liz?

"I'm just gonna stay here.. if she comes here I will text you." Kyla said and the two nodded and ran out the door, Salene got into her car and Matt got into the passenger seat, he looked at her and sighed.

"Well, here goes nothing." He said and Salene nodded and started the car, Salene couldn't believe they were actually gonna do this, they didn't know what they were getting into but they were gonna help their friend.

They drove around until they came to Marlo's house and saw the front door wide open, was Scott there? Probably, Salene and Matt got out of the car and looked around, the window was broken and the front door was open, Scott was here.

"We gotta go in the house." Salene said and Matt looked at her like she was joking

"You've got to be kidding me, even if she is still alive we can't save her, after what she does to us." Matt said still staring at his sister.

They walked up into the house and took a deep breath and Salene pushed the door open and looked at the stained blood red carpet, Scott was here.

"Ok, now we know Scott was here, can we go?" Matt asked and Salene rolled her eyes and walked farther into the house, they looked at the couch, a big lump laid on the couch, they walked up to it and touched the blanket.

"Ready, one, two, three!" They said and took the blanket off of the lump, Marlo was covered in blood and breathless, the blood was dry and she had her eyes closed as if she had died tired and closed her eyes for awhile.

"Oh my god, she's dead!" Salene said and Matt stepped back a bit, he didn't want to look at the girls dead body laying on the couch.

"I-I, we need to get out of here." Matt said and Salene nodded and they walked out of the house and to the car, they got in and drove away, they needed to go to Micheal's house.

"Maybe she's over there and is ok." Matt said looking out his window and then at Salene who looked scared and tired.

"I hope your right." She replied and Matt nodded, he and Salene really wanted Iiz to be ok

They drove to Micheal's without talking, Matt's heart sped up and he was starting to get worried, Salene on the other hand wanted to cry, she really didn't want to loose her friend, the one friend she had grown up with and loved almost like a sister, they came by Micheal's and Salene stepped on the breaks when she saw his door had a bit of blood on it.

"Oh, no." Salene said and the two raced out of the car and opened the door to Micheal's house, Matt opened the door and they stepped in, the light's were off and bloody hand prints were all over the walls and the carpet, Matt ran all over the house, looking behind doors and going into other rooms.

"Your cheater!" Matt yelled and Salene raced up stairs to find Micheal and Jesse laying on Micheal's bed, Jesse's shirt was still undone and Micheal lay on his stomach with his eyes closed, Matt's hands formed into a fist and anger had taken over him, he couldn't believe that Micheal would do this to Matt's angel, HIS Liz.

"I can't believe he would do that to such a beautiful girl like Liz." Matt said and walked out of the room, he needed to take a break and get some anger out, he had seen the basement door open and he started walking down the stairs and turned the light on at the end of the staircase, Matt looked around and walked, he walked to the other side of the basement and saw a blood stain and blood going down the drain, he bent down and tapped his finger on the blood, it wasn't dry, he walked farther, it was starting to get dark he couldn't see where he was going and couldn't see a thing.

"why can't I see a thing?" He asked himself and felt for something, he moved farther until he felt a lumpy hard object and tried to pull it to the light, he pulled the body, it was light and almost weighed nothing, he finally walked into the light and looked at the object, he couldn't believe his eyes!

"Liz!" He yelled and heard footsteps running down to the basement, he looked up and saw Salene running down, she stopped at the last foot of stairs and looked at the girls body she felt the tears rolling down her cheeks and she walked slowly to her friends body and bent down.

"She's dead, he killed her." Matt said crying, he couldn't bare to look at his angels body, he walked to the top of the stairs and just leaned on the wall, he wanted to get Scott back, he wanted to kill Scott he couldn't bare to have his love killed, she didn't deserve to be killed, she was young.. only 16, Salene walked up the stairs and wiped the tears away and nodded, she and Matt started walking out the door and wishing they didn't see their friends bodies.

"Do-do you think that he got anyone else?" Salene asked and Matt wrapped an arm around his sister and looked at her, feeling what she felt

"I don't know." He replied and walked over to his side of the car and opened the door with a shaky hand, he got in and Salene drove away, not wanting to look back.

"Who else would he go after?" Salene asked her brother and he just looked at her, he couldn't reply to her question, he was speechless.

"I really don't know, Salene." He replied putting his head in his one hand, he just stared at his feet the entire ride.

"I really hope Emily's ok." Salene said, she then started thinking, wouldn't Scott go after Emily?

"Salene, I think that we have to go and get Emily." Matt said looking at her, Salene nodded and drove a bit faster, she had the same feeling.
